A new dog is more than just a new pet; it's a new routine, new responsibilities, and a whole lot of learning.

One topic that often gets overlooked is grooming. Regular brushing, nail trims, ear cleaning, and bathing all play an important role in keeping dogs healthy, comfortable, and happy.

That's why we're excited to have Zoomies as part of our Tailwaggers Cleanup go-home bag project for Burlington Animal Services adopters.

They've put together an easy-to-follow grooming guide that helps new pet parents understand the basics of coat care, recognize when their dog may need professional grooming, and build healthy grooming habits from the very beginning.

One of the best parts of adopting a new pet is making those first memories together.

We're excited to thank Katie Smith Photography for helping make those memories last a lifetime. Katie has generously contributed a special offer for families adopting through Burlington Animal Services that will be included in our go-home bags.

Her postcard includes a complimentary 8×10 portrait print with a booked pet portrait session, along with helpful tips for capturing beautiful photos of your new companion. It's a wonderful way for new pet parents to celebrate and preserve the memories of bringing home their newest family member.

It's another example of a local small business investing in our community and helping new adopters start off on the right paw.

We're excited to welcome Inline K9 Dog Training Services LLC as another local partner in our shelter go-home bag project!

Bringing home a new dog is exciting, but it can also come with a lot of questions. Having guidance from a professional trainer can help new families build confidence, strengthen their bond with their new companion, and set everyone up for success from day one.

Inline K9 has contributed training guides and special offers that will be included in our adoption bags.

We want to send a big thank you to Pet Supermarket of Burlington for donating coupons for our shelter's go-home bag project.

Bringing home a newly adopted dog comes with a lot of excitement, and often a shopping list too. These coupons will help new pet parents save money on some of the supplies their new family member may need.

We still have a few more businesses to shout out in upcoming posts, but we really appreciate every business that is helping us welcome adopted dogs into their new homes and set them up for success from day one.

Bringing home a new dog from the shelter is exciting, but it can also come with a lot of questions.
