Three pages so far. Start with Our Story, that’s the good one.

It’s got my Granny in it. She fed the feral cats behind the drug store in town for years and fixed every one she could catch. And it’s got Henry, a little black kitten who followed me around a farm in Graham back in 2019 and decided I was his person. We lost him in 2021. His name is on the door for a reason.

Then there’s the four who run my house these days: Jackson Browne, Leonardo DiCatrio, Sweetie Jane, and Delilah Rose. They’re doing a fine job, thank you for asking.

Menus, hours, and the cats are all still to come. Check back now and then, it’ll keep growing!

FAQ Week: Will you do cat yoga?

Yes. A real class with a real instructor, in the lounge, with cats who have every right to walk across your mat mid-pose.

Setting expectations now: this is not a serious practice session. Someone will sit on your towel. Someone will attack your ponytail in downward dog. You will laugh and lose your balance and that’s the whole point. Beginners welcome, because nobody in that room is judging your form, least of all the cats.

Spots will be limited and members will get first dibs at them!

Friends, here are a houseful of teenaged panthers in foster care with Sparkle Cat Rescue. Just imagine how much fun they would have running around the cat lounge. AND, we're hoping they will all find homes long before April!

FAQ Week!

3. Will I be able to bring my kids?

We're still working out the youngest age that makes sense, and we're taking our time with it.

The honest version: a cat lounge asks a lot of a kid. Move slowly, speak quietly, keep your hands to yourself, accept that the cat you want might not want you. Some kids are great at that. Some aren't there yet, and that visit would be bad for everyone, especially the cats.

So we're looking at ways to make it work for both, like setting aside specific times for a kid-centered visit. A smaller group, a staff member walking them through how to read a cat, and cats who do well with that kind of energy. Better than dropping kids into a quiet room full of strangers and hoping.

We'd rather get this right than open with a number we picked out of thin air. If you have a kid who loves cats, tell us what you think would work!

2. How long will I get with the cats?

A booked visit will be 55 minutes. If you walk in without a reservation and there's room, you'll be able to take a 30 minute visit instead.

The cap isn't about turning tables. Cats need the room to empty out and settle between groups, and a lounge with people coming and going all day is a stressed lounge.

1. Will I need a reservation?

For the lounge, yes. There will be a cap on how many people can be in the room at once, which is for the cats more than for you. Book ahead, especially on weekends. The cafe side won't need anything. Walk in, order, sit down.

Meet Cash! He has already appointed himself to the marketing department of Henry's Place.

Cash is anxious for us to open, and honestly he would be perfect in the lounge. The problem is that we will not be open for a few months and he is a teenaged tiny panther still in foster care.

Black cats sit in foster care longer than any other cat. Not because anything is wrong with them, and not because of anything a black cat has ever actually done. They just get scrolled past. Cash has clearly decided to fix that himself.

He is available now through , and he should not have to wait for us. ❤

We sat down with Olivia to ask why she wants to be adopted. She answered every question without getting off her wheel.

Olivia is outgoing, has never met a stranger, and would love a cat friend who can keep up with her. She is looking for a home with room to run and people who want to say hello.
