Updated 5/2:

TL:DR (but please read)
1x 75g: $100
5x 33g Long: $35 for all five
3x 29g: $25 each
5x 15g: $10 each
1x 10g: $5 each

During the pandemic I started a business breeding African cichlids with the goal of opening a fish store. At that time I had the opportunity to acquire the contents of a closed pet store, which I jumped on. I set up 25 aquariums in the space I had at home, and rented a storage unit for the other 27. It's become clear that the business is not going to work, and it's time to liquidate. Here is an inventory, with pictures:

75 gallon--old school heavy glass with a glass center brace. This tank is so old that the top frame is 4 pieces with joints in the corners. I resealed it two years ago and it has been holding water just fine. There are a few scratches in the glass. Solid, quality tank: $100
There is a 2"x6" stand with stainless bolts that can accommodate four 10 gallons below for an additional $20.

5x 33 gallon LONG tanks--48" long, like a very short 55. These were the display tanks in the store. They are ALL drilled through the back and have (or had) dividers. Some were divided into two compartments (four holes), and some were divided into three compartments (six holes). Every tank comes with threaded bulkhead fittings for all holes (which can be capped to use without a sump). All have blue coatings on the sides and back, and originally had blue overflows with strainers on the drain, but those are mostly brittle and broken. These are an AWESOME size for fish that don't need a lot of vertical space (like most cichlids). NOTE: 2 tanks need to be resealed on one corner, and three are cracked—2 on the bottom and one on the back. You should be able to have three great tanks if you want to do the work.

3x 29 gallon tanks--purchased new less than two years ago. All are drilled through the bottom with bulkhead fitting, stand pipe with strainer, ball valve and slip union. Great condition: $25 each

5x 15 gallons. All have two holes drilled through the back with compression style rubber bulkhead fittings that will probably need to be replaced. Tank only: $10 each

10 gallons--purchased new less than two years ago. Tank only: $5.

Sump, good size: $25

There are also a couple cracked 15’s that could easily be repaired. I'll throw them into a package deal for free.

Accessories:
Danner AP40 air pump: $60
More to be listed tomorrow.

FOR SALE: reverse trio (2m/1f) of adult Trimitichromis intermedius “Kimbiri Point” $125

When I shut things down, I kept three fish, because they were my favorites, because they were rare, and most importantly because they are not aggressive (at least, not by cichlid standards) so I could keep them together in a smaller tank without violence. It’s a reverse trio (2m/1f) of adults living in a 42 hex, and none of them has ever had an injury, if that tells you anything. Anyway, I’m finding I just don’t have the time or the interest to enjoy them/breed them (they’ve tried, but the gravel on the bottom of the tank is too large). So for their own sakes I am offering them for sale to the right buyer.

For sale: 3 Trimitochromis intermedius “Kambiri point”. Two adult males around 4” and an adult female around 3.5”. Very healthy, have eaten anything I give them (mostly Hikari cichlid pellets). They are beautiful fish—they remind me quite a bit of some Lethrinops species, but even LESS aggressive than Lethrinops. I’m not saying they are guppy peaceful, maybe gourami peaceful. Point is, if you put them in a mixed Malawi tank, they WILL be killed, and if that is what you have in mind, they’re not for sale. Seriously. I have been raising them for three years, and I want to KNOW that they are going to someone who will give th the care they deserve.

$125, non-negotiable. No shipping. Sorry.

The first pic is a stock photo from google that looks just like them, because I have hard a hard time getting a good pic on my phone. The rest are pics of the fish taken a while back (on my phone). I’ll try to snap some more tonight.

Thanks, everyone, for your interest in Back Room Fish. Unfortunately, i have been forced to close the operation down permanently. I started this business during the height of the pandemic when I was home all week, but I never really managed to get it off the ground. Now I’m back to working 40+ hours a week outside the home and I just don’t have time to keep it going. All the best to you and your fishy friends.
