It's hard to believe that a year ago today we were saying goodbye to our beloved Aidan. Every time I get a phone call or a text from a member of our grooming family telling me they've lost a pup, I know exactly what heartache and sadness and pain they are feeling because I've been there. The tears become less frequent with every passing day, but the hole never seems to get smaller.

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are".

It is a very sad day at HOT DOG! Groomers. Today we said goodbye to Aidan... Lilia's best friend for the last fourteen years, our shop mascot, logo model, chief of security, and treat tester. He was handsome, intelligent, stubborn, opinionated, well-trained and he brought more laughter and love to our home and our shop than we deserve. He will be missed. If you see any of us with a tear in our eye or a quirky grin on our face over the days to come, we're probably thinking of our Esthete's Melrose on the River Tweed. We love you, pup!

Since Lilia left us for married life and the cooler temperatures of Virginia, we've been without a second groomer. Unfortunately, that meant we had to turn away some potential new clients and Melissa was forced to carry on conversations with the dogs. Those poor pups!

Thankfully, Mikayla walked through our doors last week and we think she will be a wonderful addition to the HOT DOG! Groomers family. She's very sweet and is an excellent groomer. She's young and able to groom pups large and small and in between.

We have lots of appointments to fill for Mikayla and we still have a few openings for Melissa, as well, so give us a call or text us at 817-447-2143. We look forward to hearing from you.

Greetings family and friends. As you may know, Liam is going to Pensacola Christian College and studying for the ministry. He is also a starter for the Eagles basketball team. This summer, Liam is going on a mission trip to Africa with the basketball team. While there, he'll have the opportunity to preach as well as play basketball with one of the African national teams.

If you are willing and able, we'd love for you to be a part of Liam's mission trip by supporting him financially. The college is covering the cost of air travel and a missionary family is providing lodging, but there are other expenses including Liam's passport, vaccinations, visas, and spending money... and I had no idea just how expensive those things are!

One day soon, the term "mutt" will probably not be politically correct. Until then, give your mutt a squeeze and take him out for some ice cream.

Shortly after we were married, we adopted a tiny little puppy and named her Cleopatra. She was half Samoyed and half Border Collie. She was one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen in my life... and one of the sweetest. For two years, we didn't know she could bark. She was always so demure and was never concerned with being the Alpha. She only cared about making those around her... dog or human... happy. I will miss that girl as long as I live!
