Today, we are housing ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ฌ, even though our adoption page lists only a fraction of that number. This significant difference is due to many reasons, and it's why ๐ฐ๐'๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐๐ง ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐:
๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ: Many animals are stray and on a mandatory hold period, waiting for their worried owners to find them.
๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ซ๐: We have animals who are sick or injured and receiving vital veterinary care before they can be adopted.
๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ/๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ: Some of our feline and canine residents are pregnant mamas, preparing to give birth to their litters in a safe environment.
๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐: A number of animals are undergoing rabies quarantine, a necessary public safety measure.
๐๐ฐ๐ง๐๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฌ: We are temporarily housing animals whose owners are experiencing difficult circumstances, such as incarceration, and hope to be reunited with their pets.
