💉🐾 June is Vaccine Awareness Month at Our Hospital! 🐾💉

This month, our hospital is focusing on the importance of keeping pets protected through routine vaccinations and preventative care.

Vaccines help protect dogs and cats against serious — and sometimes life-threatening — diseases such as:

🐶 Parvovirus
🐶 Distemper
🐶 Bordetella
🐶 Leptospirosis
🐱 FVRCP illnesses

🐶🐱 Rabies

Throughout June, we’ll be sharing educational posts about common pet vaccines, what they protect against, and why staying up to date is so important for your pet’s health and safety. ❤️

Whether your pet is a playful puppy, curious kitten, senior companion, or social adventurer, vaccines are one of the best ways to help them live a longer, healthier life.

We honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

If your pet experiences a medical emergency while we are closed, please contact your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26.

🐾 Speaking of different types of treatments for pets… NSAIDs are one of the most effective tools we have for managing arthritis pain.

What they do:
✔️ Reduce inflammation
✔️ Relieve pain
✔️ Improve mobility

Common options:
• Carprofen (aka Rimadyl, Vetprofen, Novox)
• Meloxicam (aka Metacam)

⚠️ Because these medications are processed through the liver and kidneys, regular check-ups and lab work are important.

Here at our hospital, we are proud to periodically host externs from a variety of veterinary assistant and veterinary technician programs.

Providing hands-on learning opportunities is one of the ways we support the next generation of veterinary professionals. Externships allow students to gain real-world experience, build confidence, and learn from our dedicated team in a clinical setting.
