Meet Mitsuki (pronounced "Mitski")

Mitsuki is a spayed domestic shorthair born in July 2021. She is incredibly smart, affectionate, and very food motivated. If treats are involved, she loves learning tricks and figuring things out. She enjoys wand toys, chasing milk caps across the floor like a hockey puck, and snuggling up for naps.

She is a very social cat and usually won't hide when visitors come over. She will greet you at the door when you get home and will follow you around wanting attention. She also has different little chirps and meows, depending on whether she's asking for pets, treats, or dinner. She loves chin and cheek scratches and actually does not mind being brushed. She also enjoys sitting on your lap if you have a soft blanket over you. Sometimes she'll even hop onto your shoulders if she's curious about what's going on.

Mitsuki likes to do things on her own terms. She has been around other cats but is not thrilled when they come near her, and prefers humans. Because of this she would do best and would be happiest as the only pet in the home. She has not lived with dogs or children, but she tends to enjoy a quieter environment where her boundaries are respected.

She is litter box trained and has used both regular and automatic litter boxes. She does scratch furniture, so having several scratching posts and cardboard scratchers will help. She is also very observant and can learn how to open cabinets if she watches you enough.

She does well with routine. She usually gets kibble from an automatic feeder and looks forward to her wet food every evening. She will happily remind you about dinner starting about 30 minutes early. She also sheds quite a bit, so be prepared for some extra white fur around the house.

Mitsuki would do best with someone who is home often because she loves being around her person and does experience separation anxiety. If you are looking for a cat who is smart, affectionate, full of personality, and will happily spend time with you every day, then she will make a wonderful companion.

If you are ready to spoil this love bug, contact her foster mom, Mayra, at [email protected]. With your inquiry, please include some information about your household, experience, and other pets, as well as any questions you might have.

Bonded pair Fangs (white- 7 yrs) and Nana (scruffy- 6yrs) deserved a trip off campus and a pair of volunteers were happy to oblige. These 2 are very bonded to each other and checked in regularly, sniffing together, peeing on the same spots and always knowing where the other was. Nana is a bit more spritely and endlessly curious. Fangs is only mildly curious and would prefer to sit on your lap than go on an adventure. He got carried a couple of times when walking was just tooooooo boring. Nana was happy to walk and explore but made sure her brother was always safe. They both loved taking a break at the coffee shop and helped make sure no crumbs were left behind. We also got to give them wings because we think they should be considered works of art. These 2 aren’t speed demons or grand explorers, but they are incredibly sweet and fluffy and fabulous companions- to each other and their human escorts. They’re looking for a home where they can explore the neighborhood a little, nap on the couch a lot, have some snacks and cuddles every day and enjoy their adulthood with naps and love. They’re quite small and did great on leash- minimally reactive to other dogs in the world but they will definitely warn you when strangers come to the door. These little sassy pups deserve to find a forever home that appreciates their unique pairing for the rest of their lives. Is that you??? It should be. They’re awesome. Head into and meet them for yourself!

Hawkeye is a super sweet boy. He is affectionate and very playful. He is young and loves to play with cat toys. He is FIV+, so he could be in a home as the only cat, be in a home with other cats that he gets on with, or a home where there is another FIV Positive cat. Whatever scenario, he’s a wonderful companion that will keep you busy all day.

Hawkeye has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Most cats with this virus live long, healthy lives. In very rare and extreme cases it can progress and these cats can become sick. This virus is not contagious to humans or other animals and is only spread to other cats through deep bite wounds (drawing and ingesting blood). Casual contact such as sharing food and water bowls, grooming, or peacefully living together is considered a very low-risk method of transmission. Hawkeye should always be kept inside and needs to get along with other cats in the home (no intense fighting). Since this is a virus that affects the immune system, it is important to stay on top of preventative care: annual veterinary exams, flea and parasite control, vaccines and a healthy, protein-rich diet. FIV-positive cats can make wonderful companions and, with appropriate routine care, can have a normal or near-normal lifespan.

Chico (the little one) and Pickles (the big one), are extremely sweet and balance each other perfectly. Pickles has a calm, relaxed, mellow energy, he likes toys, but between toys and sitting next to you, or on you, he’ll choose being next to you. He really believes he’s the small one, since he loves being a lap dog, literally, he’ll sit right on your lap, it’s super cute.

Chico loves being pet and giving kisses, but what he really loves is playing with toys. He'll go get them and bring them back to you, he just hasn't quite mastered letting go yet, but he loves the game either way.

Together, they're the perfect bonded pair, balancing each other out.

Cinderella is a peach tortie with striking big green eyes. She was a mommy to six kittens and did a fantastic job raising them. Now it's her turn to find her forever home. She's a bushy tailed beauty who loves attention. She will rub into you quite vigorously and tell you she loves you with a very vocal trill and meow. She is perfect for someone who only wants one pet in their life. This petite little girl is not a picky eater but she is a very light eater weighing in at a mere 7 pounds. She loves to play and will bring toys to you. She could probably be taught to play fetch if you're patient enough.

Melody came in pretty shy but has adjusted very well with a little time and a lot of treats. Now she welcomes attention. If you offer treats she will gladly eat them. Offer pets and she will head butt for more. Roll a toy in front of her and she is more than happy to play. She can still be very alert around loud noises. She likes to be aware of what's happening, but feels no need to go explore what's happening. As long as the commotion isn't near her, she's good. Once she gets settled into a home she may give in to her curiosity. For now, she likes to play it safe.

Skip is a 3-year-old German Shepherd with a big personality, a big heart, and plenty of energy to burn. He loves soft, squeaky toys, splashing around in the water, and digging in his water bowl whenever he gets the chance. After he gets some playtime and exercise in, he settles down nicely and becomes a much calmer, affectionate boy.

Skip walks well on a leash overall, though he could use a little extra training to help with pulling. He’s not overly reactive to other dogs at a distance, but may bark when dogs get too close. It doesn’t seem aggressive, more excitement and curiosity than anything else.

He loves attention, enjoys being pet, and gives some really great kisses. Skip would do best with someone who can match his energy, continue his training, and give him lots of playtime, structure, and love.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter and adopt Skip!!!

Hi! My name is Taco Bell and I'm a very nice cat but it's scary here! I am very playful in my foster home but all the noise here is very frightening! I loooove to have my butt scratched, and chin scritches are even better! Once I am comfortable, I am adventurous! I like to find new levels on the cat tree and new caves to explore. My favorite thing ever is FOOOOOOD. Once I figure out that you are my food person, I will get over being scared! I just need to find my person and then I will blossom into a sweet, silly cat. With a little patience, I will make a great companion for you (and/or your cat!) Children and dogs are too much for me, but I love to play with other cats! I would make a great little brother for your cat.
When you meet me, keep in mind I am VERY afraid of strangers and will try to get away if you hold me! Once I get to know you I am a silly, playful, friendly boy!

I LOVE: chin and butt scritches, other cats, exploring, churus
I AM SCARED OF: noises, children, dogs, and strangers.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt Taco Bell!!!
