Everyone welcome Chaplin to Land Shark K9 Training! 🐾

This handsome boy is here for a 4 Week Board & Train to work through some stranger danger, particularly when guests come over to his home. The goal is to help him feel more comfortable and confident around unfamiliar people, both at home and out in public!

Chaplin has already shown me a different side of himself than what I saw at our initial evaluation. He’s genuinely such a sweet boy, and I’m hopeful other people will get to see that side of him, too. I have a feeling we’ll have that muzzle off in no time! 🙌🏼

It’s no secret I’m partial to pointy ears (especially when they’re German Shepherds 🙈) so this big man most definitely has a special place in my heart.

A big thank you to my fellow dog trainers in the community for referring Chaplin’s family my way. I’m so deeply grateful for the trust y’all show me. Chaplin & I are going to do our best! 🥹

Some new faces around here 🤍

Miss Eve and Ladybug came in yesterday for their Board & Train! These adopted sisters love each other, but sometimes that relationship comes with squabbles. We’ll be working on obedience, clearer boundaries, and giving their family some practical tools to create a calmer, more peaceful home.

Miss Cova wraps up her three week Board & Train this Thursday! Her family actually found me in a parking lot after seeing the Land Shark sticker on my car and saying, “We have a land shark.”
Let me tell y’all… they were not wrong. 😂

Cova came in with a lot of fear that was starting to present as aggression, and she has worked through it beautifully. She is fun, spunky, incredibly smart, and has been such a joy to train.

If you know me personally, you would know that, out of all the serious dogs I work with, it was the four month old puppy who got me good. 😂 Proud to say we have worked through it and I absolutely adore this girl. Cannot wait for her family to see how far she has come!

Meet my foster dog, Lumi. 💞

I picked this sweet girl up this morning and she’ll be hanging out with me while she gets healthy, trained, and eventually ready for her forever home.

Lumi is a nine month old Belgian Malinois who was found wandering in San Antonio by a nice couple. They took her to be scanned for a microchip and she had one. However, her owner was contacted and said they did not want her back. From what we know, Lumi had already been out on her own for at least six weeks.

She’s pretty thin and definitely has some healing + catching up to do, but despite everything, she is absolutely precious. She gives the sweetest hugs, loves being close to you, and already loves the other dogs. She especially loves my lil Moonpie, who followed her around for her entire photoshoot. 😂

For now, Lumi gets to decompress, put some weight back on, learn some things, and just be a nine month old Maligator puppy. Once she’s ready, we’ll start looking for the right home for her. 🫶🏼

Sometimes, you're working with a dog who is fully capable of causing serious harm and has every intention of doing so.

Does that mean the dog is evil? No, but it does mean we owe them the respect of being honest about what's standing in front of us.

You can't help a dog by minimizing what they're capable of.
The first way to help them is by understanding that.
