A Beautiful Goodbye 🌈🐾
Yesterday was one of the hardest, yet most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had as a groomer.
For nearly 8–9 years, I had the absolute privilege of grooming this sweet girl. I started out doing her nail trims at the shop, ACTUALLY in her mommas truck 😂 and as the years went by and she got older, there came a time when she was no longer able to make it into the salon. To much anxiety her hips started hurting it was too much stress on her That’s when I started going to her home to do her nail trims.
Honestly, she is the reason I started offering at-home nail trims. 🥹❤️
Yesterday, I had the heartbreaking honor of going back to her home one last time—not to groom her, but to say goodbye.
Her parents made the incredibly difficult decision to let her go peacefully at home, surrounded by the people who loved her most. And although it was absolutely heartbreaking, watching her pass was one of the most peaceful experiences I have ever witnessed.
She was comfortable. She was surrounded by her family. She was home. ❤️
The veterinarian who came to help her was absolutely amazing. She was kind, gentle, compassionate, and incredibly respectful. She explained everything step-by-step, never rushed anything, and handled this sweet girl with so much care. You could genuinely tell that she loves what she does and understands how emotional this moment is for a family.
The entire experience was peaceful and beautiful in a way I don’t think I’ll ever forget.
I know in-home euthanasia can be expensive, and I know it isn’t an option everyone can afford, but after witnessing it firsthand, I truly wish every family could experience this kind of peaceful goodbye for their pets when the time comes.
There was no scary car ride. No unfamiliar room. No strange smells or surroundings.
Just home.
Just love.
Just family.
And then, peacefully, she was free. 🕊️🌈
I like to believe that right now, she’s young again. She’s running, playing, and feeling absolutely no pain. She has her energy back, and she’s playing with her siblings especially her Charlie❤️🐾
To her mom J.J. Harvey and dad: thank you. Thank you for allowing me to be there. Thank you for trusting me enough to share such an incredibly personal and heartbreaking moment with me. I will forever cherish that.
I have loved this girl for so many years, and I will forever be grateful that our paths crossed.
You were never “just a client’s dog.”
You were one of my babies. And I will never forget you. ❤️
Run free, sweet girl. No more pain. No more aging. Just endless sunshine, treats, and running across the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🐾
Until we meet again Babygirl❤️
