Liz E.'s Pekingese Rescue and Sanctuary

Liz E.'s Pekingese Rescue and Sanctuary Welcome to Liz E.'s Pekingese Rescue and Sanctuary! We strive for great homes for our adoptable dogs. Check out our website at Pekingesepatrol.com.

Our address is PO Box 687, Bull Shoals, AR 72619; our email is [email protected] We are a Pekingese Rescue and Sanctuary. We specialize in the safety and/or re-homing of Pekingese, whether they are seniors or young dogs. Our rescue is a place where a Pekingese has the freedom to be a dog and live in the comfort of their choosing. If you adopt from us, please understand these are rescued d

ogs. They will need ample time to adjust to a new environment. Please see our donation list, every bit helps. Please see our Petfinder page for our adoptable dogs (AR297)! Thank you for visiting our page!

We recevied a suprise box for the dogs! Naturally, it was immediately dumped into the middle of the floor like we were opening a Pekingese toy superstore. They carefully considered whether anything met their extremely unreasonable standards. Eventually, everyone agreed the best toy was whatever someone else had just picked up—because apparently that's how retail works around here. 😆THANK YOU, Davalyn for the box! We would now like to announce that the toy department is officially CLOSED. 😂 We have enough toys to keep these dogs entertained for approximately the next 47 years! We are incredibly grateful for your generosity! ❤️🐾

Recurring donations are one of the most important ways you help us care for the Peke-le, because they give us something incredibly valuable in rescue: predictability. https://pekingesepatrol.com/donate/

This month four of the dogs went to the cardiologist. Idee, WittWitt, Pete, and Aerie have all had cardiology appointments here in Arkansas, with Idee going on a separate day. YAY for having a specialist closer to home!
We received some news we didn't want to hear. But we also got something just as important: answers. And with those answers, we can make informed decisions and give the dogs the best care possible.

Specialty care is often a necessary part of caring for Pekingese. Heart issues, breathing problems, eyes, spines…the list goes on. Dr. Thomason made it easy. No long waits, no referrals. Note to self: Pekingese apparently do not come with a budget-friendly option. LOL!

This is exactly why recurring donors are so important. Right now, only about 80 people are recurring donors out of nearly 15,000 FB followers (not including IG and YouTube). Those 80 people provide a dependable foundation when a Peke needs testing, medication, specialty care, or answers.

If you joined this small but critical group with $20, $50, or whatever amount you choose each month, it would help give us the ability to plan and respond when a dog needs care—because when they need us, we don’t stop and check the budget. We go.
You're helping make sure there is a “yes” for Pekingese needs . 🐾❤️You can sign up here, choosing monthly. We are grateful. https://pekingesepatrol.com/donate/

Thank you Dr. Thomason for being there for us. https://www.tauvetcardiology.com/

I don't know why seeing dogs in the water brings smiles, but it does....River life, outdoor life, warm weather and sunshine! Fwim, float and Peke-ing around--these are the days! That's a wrap on Pekes, Logs and River Dogs! We love summer!

Lemmy has big plans to open the premier Pekingese river bar, complete with river-rock seating, log-top tables, cold drinks, and unlimited fwimming. Naturally, he is currently accepting investors, staff, and anyone willing to carry him back to shore when he gets tired. Tommy has already asked about the grand opening, but Lemmy is keeping the date confidential until he can determine whether Tommy meets the establishment’s very strict guest standards. 😆 Side note--we all went out to the log and T-Tom came out to us all on his own and got on the log on his own--no need for an invite for Tommy Myrone!

Regina, Sasha, and Lemmy were absolutely living their best river lives, happily fwimming around like they had nowhere else to be. Meanwhile, Tommy was stationed nearby providing a continuous "stream" of commentary about how he is obviously the superior fwimmer and everyone else is merely splashing around in his sport. Apparently, when you're Tommy, even watching other dogs fwim becomes an opportunity to remind everyone who's actually the self appointed fwimming authority... 😆

It’s a simple Soupy pose. Flat out, head off the bed… the reason why it’s so particularly special is he was diagnosed with a crushed disc in his back. Little Herman Hermes has fought against the odds— all of them. ❤️🥰 🥹

Just in case you've never seen a bear drink out of a glass. Sigh. Henry and his big nose. I guess I'm done with that drink. Summer is for sharing... Henry does as Henry pleases... 🤣

Today on Tommy's Tursdays, Tommy sits there wagging his tail, trying to work his way into the front seat like he has somewhere important to be. Is it the post office? No fwimming. The bank? Still no fwimming. Shopping? He remains cautiously optimistic. Finally, after exhausting himself with all this investigative work, Tommy delivers a tremendous yawn—because apparently being a passenger in a car is hard, exhausting work when he's the one being chauffeured. 😆 His little puffy cheeks...

Edgar and Sasha spent the day at the lake demonstrating two very different approaches to aging gracefully. Edgar, once a formidable athlete, floated serenely between the water and his floatie, conserving his considerable energy for the important things—lounging and contemplating a nap. Sasha was not particularly thrilled that they are the same age and yet Edgar has apparently negotiated a retirement package that includes flotation devices, while she is still expected to use her legs. 😆 Sasha's such a good girl.... and Eddie...well....
