It’s Pete week! It’s a long story….It’s been 8 years since we took Pete off the euthanasia table, to the ER hospital, then to Liz E.’s sanctuary. Wound care, love and healing….um….er….then the realization that Daddy Person was not the medic and so Mommy Person became hot garbage!
Hooray for Pete week!

Monki and Edgar arrived at the beach ready for a relaxing day, which lasted right up until Edgar wandered out of sight for three minutes. Convinced his best friend had been swallowed by the ocean, abducted by seagulls, or started a new life elsewhere, Monki launched into a level of panic usually reserved for natural disasters. Meanwhile, Edgar was calmly conducting an important investigation into a particularly interesting smell, completely unaware that he'd become the subject of an active search-and-rescue operation. Their reunion was emotional, dramatic, and slightly embarrassing—especially for Edgar, who discovered that Monki's "collective self" is apparently just 90% friendship and 10% catastrophe planning.....Hooray for Peke Beach Week!

Today on Tommy's Tursdays, Tommy packed for the beach the way a celebrity prepares for a world tour: with hats, toys, towels, snacks, all of which he won't use. Once everything was loaded, he stationed himself by the car and began judging the Mommy Person's painfully slow pace. Every trip she made to the car was met with an expression that clearly said, "I could have organized this operation hours ago." By the time they finally left, Tommy had sighed dramatically at least seventeen times and questioned her competence twice as often. At last, with his entourage of toys assembled and his patience exhausted, Tommy headed to the beach for a day of fwimming, relaxation, and being the center of attention. That's the T-Tom way!

We alreay know everyday is Wednesday! Today, Wednesday arrived at the beach with a clear mission: locate snacks and avoid unnecessary cardio. While other dogs chased waves and personal growth, she focused on the far more practical task of monitoring the shoreline for edible opportunities. Every piece of seaweed was investigated, every suspicious smell was thoroughly researched, and every dead fish was considered a gift from the ocean itself. She briefly admired the scenery, mostly to check whether it was hiding food. By sunset, Wednesday declared the day a success—no dead fish were caught, but several nearly were!

Lemmy hit the beach like a one-dog party that nobody officially approved but everyone was glad he showed up. He went through the cooler like it owed him something, was in the water before the last beer was cracked, and came out only long enough to make sure everyone was having fun — and if they weren't, well, he had ways of motivating people. Nobody matched his energy. Nobody came close. The ocean tried and Lemmy called it a draw.
He'll be the last one out. He always is. Lemmy Lemster! The days are short but the memories last a lifetime! Peke-le at the beach!

WittWitt had thoughts about the dead fish situation down the shore. Considered, measured thoughts. He would get there when he got there. Edgar had already been in the water, lapped somebody half his age, and was now sitting in the sand making it everybody else's problem that he used to be an expert fwimmer.
Monki looked at the same wave three times and acted like it personally surprised him each time. He shared his thoughts. Edgar didn't blink.
A turtle walked by. WittWitt nodded. The dead fish was retrieved. Nobody romped.
Perfect beach day.

Welp, I can already hear it. A complaint will be filed....The Possum fell asleep in the truck and missed out on the sand and water. We all know he's an avid fwimmer (um....two toes in the water kind of avid fwimmer). He's already started singing songs about it - since we were gone ... and he's right, I think he did fall asleep for the first time.... LOL!🤣🤣🎤🤦

Edgar arrived at the water the way he arrives at everything — slowly, on his own terms, and with an expression that suggested the whole operation had better be worth it. It was.
He took his time on the sand. He looked out at the ocean like an old general surveying a battlefield he'd won before. Then he walked in.
And just like that, every creaky, cranky, sawed-off-toothed year fell away. He wasn't an old dog navigating sand. He was just Edgar — gliding through the water like he owned it, lapping dogs half his age. He floated. He silently judged a Labrador.
He finally came out, soaking wet and thoroughly satisfied. His attitude is fully structural. He knows nothing about age. Hooray for the beach!

Today on Tommy's Tursdays, Tommy is a natural born CEO who has been given too many treats and not enough pushback. He is an expert fwimmer, but he thinks he's the expert organizer and I'm not sure that's entirely working out in his favor. No matter, a sandy, splashy time at the beach is all we were aiming for!

Here is Herman! Salt in his fur, sand between his toes, absolutely convinced that the ocean was put here specifically for him. He walked straight into the water like a dog with nothing to prove and everything to celebrate, which is exactly what he was.
He splashed. He ate something he shouldn't have and felt no remorse.
And somewhere between the warm sand and the good food and the breeze carrying whatever that smell was that only he seemed to appreciate — Herman figured it out. Just this. Just one a really good day in the sun. Little Hermes is winning!
