Scenes from our Broke Dog Clinic in Colorado!
This three day clinic wraps up our time in Stratton, CO - so we first and foremost want to thank our hosts The Craig's for the hospitality and support. Our annual trip to Colorado is always an amazing time, and well supported due to the Craig family's support, generosity and significant efforts! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Every year we think it's the best year yet - and each time gets better than the last!
It's fitting to end the series with our Broke Dog clinic - as it's a meld of goals, people and dogs, all coming together. We work in pairs and threes, letting the dogs reveal what each handler needs and align goals with the work at hand.
Progress in the broke dog clinic isn't linear, and it isn't even objective based - it's subtle, and it's deeper. Unlike START and FiNISH - Broke Dog is more of everything.
Birds are liberated - no tracks, not tucked - ensuring dogs use their noses, wind and identify objectives. We let the dogs work together - presenting real world backing and retrieval situations. We don't make it hard - we make it REAL.
