Bonnie & Clyde - 🫏Partner in crime are getting started.
At 5 years old, this duo has officially reached the age where their bodies and brains have decided to work together. So their “life of crime” has come to an end — and boot camp has begun.
We start every horse and mule the same way: by roping out their feet. Why? Because one day, when ropes, brush, packs, or mountain chaos find their way around those legs, we want them thinking, “Oh, been there, done that,” instead of launching into a full western drama.
They learn to lead by feel — pressure and release. Timing is impeccable. They learn patience. They learn that tangled feet aren’t the end of the world. Most importantly, they learn to trust us. The only true offense so far? One fence-jumping incident. (We won’t name names.)
All beginnings are a little messy. A little awkward. Sometimes a little dramatic. But down the road, this foundation is what makes a safe, steady, trustworthy pack animal — the kind you can count on when the mountain throws something unexpected their way.
Bonnie & Clyde may have retired from their outlaw days…but they’re well on their way to becoming dependable citizens of the high country. 🐴
Hold on and stay tuned! This is not the end of the story ... it's just the beginning 😊.
