**URGENT HELP NEEDED!!** Remember Millie? Millie had to have emergency back surgery back in December. Her current foster home has an out of town emergency family situation that she needs to tend to. We need a new foster home or an adopter of poor Millie. Here is some info on Millie:
Meet Millie (or "Bloop" to her friends!), a resilient, smart, and incredibly sweet girl who doesn’t let anything slow her down. Millie is currently a rehab superstar; she has regained sensation in her hind end and is working hard to build leg muscle. While she still needs help standing up, she is already moving her legs in the water treadmill and can hold herself up for a few seconds. Whether she’s "blooping" at you or exploring every corner of the room, her spirit is 100% active.
Personality & Behavior
The Explorer: She wants to be part of the action, whether that’s playing with other dogs or trying to hop onto the couch for cuddles.
Social Life: She is 95% great with other dogs (though she prefers friends who aren't "too" high-energy) and has a history of being wonderful with children.
The "Mildred Mae": She’s an angel, but if she hears her full name, she knows she might be in a little trouble!
Medical & Care Needs
Rehab Journey: Millie is progressing weekly but requires a committed adopter to continue her physical therapy. She currently has appointments scheduled through late April.
Mobility & Hygiene: She can often hold her urine but does not yet have bowel control. She gives a "warning" about 50% of the time, so she needs a patient home prepared for her unique needs.
Medication: She is currently on Gabapentin and a specific course of antibiotics for a UTI. The secret to success? Spray cheese. She’ll take any pill as long as it’s covered in it!
Diet: She loves her Purina Pro Plan, though her portions are being slightly reduced to keep her at a healthy weight for her joints.
Millie is a quick learner who has become a beloved member of her foster family. She is looking for a forever home that can provide the physical support and love she deserves to continue her amazing recovery.
Gabapentin 200mg 3x a day. 8am, 3pm, 9:30pm
UTI: Doxycycline 1 tablet every 12 hours for 14 days (started on 4/11) Nitrofurantain: Once the course of Doxycycline is done then she will take this pill 1x a day in the evening until gone.
