🐾Signs of pain part 1🐾
🐾Not shaking off like normal🐾
Pay close attention to when your dog “shakes off”. Whether it’s stressed, being wet or just adjusting themselves for any reason. If your dog goes to do a big shake and they sort of stop short of doing a full body shake or only shake part of the body, this is something to monitor! This can be a sign of pain.
🐾Panting🐾
Panting can mean a lot of things in our pets and pain can be one of them. Especially if your dog is laying around or panting through the night, this can be a sign of discomfort.
🐾Licking/biting🐾
If your pet tends to always lick or bite a certain area of their body this can be pain related. Do they lick certain joints? Monitor this because yes it can be many things (stress, allergies and so on) but can also be a sign of discomfort.
All of these topics can be associated with other issues BUT can also be signs of pain. Learn your pet’s “normal” so that when little things like this change, you can better understand them.
September is animal pain awareness month. We will be posting different ways to spot pain in your pets throughout the month.
