This precious kitten named Venus is having surgery for polyps in his throat and ears next Wednesday. We've been nominated for "Best Community Service!" We try to be the best for our community and for the community of many cats and kittens! Our Spay and Neuter program in its first year helped finance and provide a healthier life to over 300 cats, and protect them from over population health and life hazards. In our 2nd year we helped over 600 cats and kittens! THIS OUR 3RD YEAR Program, we are on schedule to help OVER 1000 families provide low cost spay and neuter service to their pets and strays!! Thanks to so many that are donating wet, dry and kitten food.....we are always in such need.
Thanks today to David Mathews.....so sorry your sweet kitty has passed but we want you to know we appreciate the donation of your kitten food and the baby food too. Someday when you are ready, honor your kitty with adoption of another one, even an older kitty needs love and a home of their own....bless you and hug for your loss.

Today this rescuers heart was broken-again. We found a kitty Sunday morning leaning quietly against the curbing at Modine in BV. There was no traffic so we turned around and stopped near the cat who quietly sat and listened. First speaking quietly, " hello baby, are you ok?" No response. "Well I've no carrier so you'll either let me pick you up or eat me up! Let's see, awww sweet baby, I got cha. Lets go keep you dry and safe." So we fed him many small meals, gave him capstar to kill fleas, washed his face, took his picture. Checked for a microchip, none. Poor baby." Obviously "Moe" ( for Modine) was someone's kitty, he never once fought us. So a warm meal, a really soft bed and light music playing in the background we told him goodnight. Next morning, well to say Moe had destroyed his cage would put it mildly. Putting Moe in a carrier for the cleaning to begin, he did growl a bit. Nothing to really be concerned about. A hour later, the cage was back together with p*e pads lining the cage. Removed the litter box, and water bowl, he kept walking in circles, in the water, then litter, then water, ect. Stoping in the corners. A quick 2nd or 3rd clean-up and we realized he was maybe blind?!! Off to the vets we go! Never once did he fight, we both heard possible neurological issues, thin beyond thin, kidney failure. Obviously on his own. Neutered, ear had been tipped. He fought a bit, just afraid. He was held, loved, kissed, petted, talked to softly, tears wiped away, mine, his. Rescue is never easy, its heartbreaking and fulfilling too. Moe crossed over that rainbow bridge, one step at a time, turned at the end and said " thanks mom for a day of peace, food, safety and love." See you again Moe! If you could share, we'd love to let his family know what happened to him. He's being cremated, his ashes returned to be added to the sanctuary grave.
