Which makes it the perfect base location for the “Last Look Taxidermy Studio”. Wildlife artist Alycia Lewis specializes in both the fish and wildlife of North America. With a strong foundation in fish

ing and hunting and a great respect for the outdoors, she understands the importance of preserving our outdoor heritage for future generations. Taxidermy is an all-encompassing craft that requires skill in woodworking, design, mold creation, tanning, animal anatomy, and much more. But as important as craftsmanship, a connection to the outdoors and a respect for nature is central to the process.

I don’t post much on this page but for those that follow me, I should give an update. I had a major surgery back in September and spent the month of September in the hospital. My post surgery recovery period ends around mid December. The severity of the surgery was a bit of surprise and recovery a little bit slower than expected. This has set me back a bit. I have been able to slowly get some work finished but I won’t be able to really get going until mid December. I am very thankful that I get to do this job!

This majestic Rocky Mountain Bighorn ram was taken in Colorado. These native sheep were found on the plains in herds along side elk and bison. Extensive colonization pushed them into the mountains and domestic sheep introduced diseases which reduced the sheep to a fraction of their original population. I highly recommend reading the book "American Serengeti," by Dan Flores.

I will be increasing my shop prices 2021. I was able to keep my pricing the same throughout 2020, but shipping costs and tannery turn around time have increased. And of course costs of supplies increases every year. Look for the new pricing after the 1st of the year on the website.
