The dark tabby is still missing!

🚨Dewey & Jonesy was LOST on June 7, 2026 in Bucksport, ME 04416 near Cross Rd in Bucksport off of Silver Lake Rd and Mill Vale Rd.

💬 Owner's Message: "The boys pushed a screen window out and must have ran off exploring sometime very early in the morning. Please don't chase them Jonesy the orange guy is very skittish of strangers. If you see them anywhere please call with any sightings in Bucksport. I have left food and their litter outside hoping they return soon. I'm so worried as the only time they spend outside is with me and my husband in a fenced in yard. We were devastated to see they were missing this morning "

We always get asked if we have little dogs available for adoption, the answer is usually no as we mainly get medium to large dogs, but now we finally have a little!!

Jake is a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier. He is looking for a home where he is the only pet due to his prey drive. Jake is looking for a forever home where he can live his senior years with love, nap times, and snacks of course! Jake is a great cuddler and also likes to go on walks and car rides. Though his eyesight isn't what it used to be, he still sees well and doesn't let that or his age get in his way.

Panther was recently adopted from us and got loose at Bangor Savings Bank in Bucksport. He is very friendly and will likely wander to someone's home but please do not chase. If seen please call Bucksport dispatch at (207)469-7951 and ask for the animal control officer and inform them of the sightings

Ella wants to let everyone know we are running low on some supplies to keep the shelter running clean and smooth! We know the community is always a huge help whenever we are in need so Ella figured she'd come ask for a few donations!

We are in desperate need of:

Paper towels
Bleach
RESCUE cleaner
Odoban or Simple Green
Used or new towels
13 gal trash bags
Small blankets for cats
Sanitizing wipes
Wet cat food
Wet dog food

We usually feed food brands like Purina, Iams, Diamond Naturals, Blue Wilderness, etc. but we accept any brand and type! All donations can be dropped off either at the shelter - if no one is there they can be left outside the door since we are in and out a lot throughout the day. They can also be dropped off at the Bucksport Public Safety building on Franklin Street.

Ella - 6 y/o female Australian Shepherd mix - MOSTLY DEAF

We've had Miss Ella here for a bit now, mostly because she unfortunately ended up tearing her ACL and has been recovering from her surgery! We also found out that she tore her ACL on her other leg long before we got her, but somehow she ended up healing herself on that leg all on her own. Ella has recovered very well and we now feel comfortable enough to start looking for her furever home. She will likely have some arthritis but doesn't even act like she hurt her leg!

Ella is amazing with other dogs, she's very playful and has done well with all dogs she's been with so far; but no kitties for this girl sadly! Since she is mostly deaf she has gotten very good at a few hand signals (and any adopters need to be aware of this type of training), is potty trained, walks amazingly on leash, and is loving to everyone she meets. She's a great mix of playful and couch potato.

Potential adopters should also realize that any dog who has torn an ACL has the possibility of it happening again.

Ella has waited far too long for her perfect home so we are very excited and hopeful she will find the right family!💕
