answer any questions you may have, take special orders or talk to you about custom tank designs. Also, don’t forget the main attraction at Vance’s, The 1400 Gallon Lagoon! Vance Peters, owner of Vance’s Tropical Fish, has been involved in the aquarium-keeping industry for over 32 years. The past 14 years have seen him operating his store in Bucksport, Maine with a focus on customer education. Specialties include reef keeping, a natural approach to keeping fresh water fish, custom filters, and custom built aquariums and aquarium cabinets. With his eye toward simple and effective aquarium keeping, Vance has continued to educate himself and others in this second leading hobby in the world. Trips to the Virgin Islands and Hawaii have enhanced his aquatic artistry, enabling him to create and showcase natural tank set-ups, including a 1400-gallon exhibit and Polynesian Room. In the past couple of years, Vance has been honored with three different awards:

2004: Outstanding Non-Personal Interpretation Award for The Living Stream Exhibit at Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery in East Orland, Maine.

2003: Best Billiards Bar of the Year (Classics in Bangor, Maine) – 2nd Place in Billiards Digest where Vance installed and continues to maintain a twelve foot, 500-gallon acrylic reef tank, which is the focal point of the bar.

2002: Volunteer of the Year Award from Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery. With the loving support of his wife Cheryl and sons Justin and Kyle, Vance has continued to pursue his love of aquarium keeping in both personal and retail settings

Also this is a Hawaiian Tapa Cloth, tiki lamp..Tiki style was very big and popular in the 50's and 60's. Especially in California and Florida.
