Thank you Cassie for taking our shelter dogs out for a little adventure today.
They loved it and they can’t wait to do it again real soon.

We are so thankful to our volunteers that come up to walk our dogs. The dogs had a great time today.

🎃🐾 Our shelter kids have a Halloween wardrobe request! 🐾🎃

The dogs and cats at P.A.W.S. are ready to dress up, but our costume collection has made the rounds… and then made the rounds again! 😂

Ginger would like to speak to the wardrobe manager. 👑
“A girl dreams of being a princess, and you’re pulling out the SAME costume I wore before?! I don’t mind secondhand, but can it at least be new to ME?” 💁‍♀️🐶

Ellie sweetly bought the two adorable costumes pictured, and our little monster and busy bee are looking fabulous! But we would love for each of our kids to have a costume of their own this year.

Have any pet costumes tucked away that your dog or cat no longer wears? Spot a cute one on sale? Our babies would love your new or gently used pet costumes in all sizes, especially larger ones. We got some big babies. 🙂

You can drop them off at P.A.W.S., 57 Lemons Branch Road in Bryson City, or at the thrift store at 57 Slope Street unit D or message us with any questions.

Help us give our shelter kids a little Halloween fun—and maybe help Ginger finally get her princess moment! 👑🧡

What costume do YOU think these two should try next? 👻🐾

A little doggy therapy, a fall adventure, and a friendship made along the way!

Suki and Rennie enjoyed a wonderful day out, beginning with a special invitation from Mountain Credit Union to bring some love and cuddles to its members. Our two sweet P.A.W.S. dogs happily shared their affection, and judging by the smiles, everyone enjoyed the visit just as much as they did!

Next came a beautiful fall walk at the island park in Cherokee, where they explored, enjoyed the fresh air, and dipped their paws in the water. We finished their adventure with well-earned treats and pup cups from Sugarbear’s Ice Cream and Coffee in Cherokee.

Suki and Rennie did beautifully throughout the day—and somewhere between the cuddles, the walk, and the pup cups, they decided they were besties.

Thank you, Mountain Credit Union, for welcoming our babies and inviting P.A.W.S. to brighten your members’ day. Choosing just two friendly dogs was no easy task—we have so many loving hearts waiting at the shelter!

Want an adventure buddy? Our shelter dogs would love to join you!

All of our dogs love getting out for an adventure. A walk, a little exploring, or some quality time together gives them a welcome break from shelter life and a chance to feel special. What may be a simple outing for you can be the highlight of their week.

We would love to welcome volunteers who want to take our dogs on outings! You don’t have to adopt to make a difference—sharing a little of your time and love means so much.

Contact P.A.W.S. to learn how you can take a shelter dog on an adventure. There’s a wagging tail waiting for you!
