Excuse us, but have you EVER seen a cuter little pumpkin?! 😭🧡

Baby Raven got all dressed up in her Halloween costume and absolutely understood the assignment. This sweet little tabby has officially been SPAYED, is vetted, and is ready to find her forever family! 🏡

Raven is snuggly, attention-seeking, ridiculously sweet, and clearly has a future in modeling. 😂 She LOVES being loved and would happily spend her days curled up with her people, getting all the attention she believes she rightfully deserves.

She’s already checked “get fixed” off her little kitten to-do list. ✅

Now there’s only one thing left…

Rune and Casper, two of Mama Wanda’s sweet baby boys, have officially discovered their pumpkin scratcher… and apparently fall decorating is now their whole personality. 😂🍂

Tiny paws, tiny faces, BIG pumpkin energy. 🎃

These boys are growing up so fast and getting more playful by the day. Watching Mama Wanda’s babies go from tiny little beans to curious, goofy kittens with personalities of their own has been the sweetest thing. 🥹🧡

Rune and Casper are already practicing for spooky season, and honestly? 10/10. No notes. 👻

Another one of our Bastrop babies has officially left the rescue life behind. 🥹

Kion came to us after being rescued from the Bastrop area, needing a safe place to land and a chance at the kind of life every kitten deserves. And now? He has a FAMILY. 🏡🐾

From a little kitten who needed rescue to somebody’s very loved baby. That’s what it’s all about. ❤️

Happy tails, Kion! Go be spoiled, cause trouble, knock things off counters, wake your humans up at unreasonable hours, and live the very best kitty life. 😂🐱

ADOPT ONE, GET ONE THROUGH THE END OF SEPTEMBER! 🌵🐱

Y’all… we are officially up to our EARS in kittens. 😂

Cactus Ranch Rescue typically doesn’t take in a huge number of cats, but after stepping in to help a rescue that was shutting down, our foster homes suddenly became VERY, VERY feline. We now have cats and kittens everywhere, and we need to get some of these babies HOME. 🏡

So through September 30th:

✨ ADOPT ONE CAT OR KITTEN, GET THE ADOPTION FEE WAIVED FOR A SECOND! ✨

And this isn’t just because we’re overflowing — there are real benefits to adopting kittens in pairs.

Kittens raised with another kitten often have an easier time learning appropriate play and social boundaries. They wrestle, chase, bite and pounce on each other, which helps teach them when play gets too rough. Having a buddy can also provide companionship, enrichment and an outlet for all that kitten energy when their humans are busy or away.

Translation: two kittens can sometimes actually be EASIER than one. 😂

They entertain each other.
They nap together.
They learn from each other.
They burn off some of that 2 AM parkour energy on EACH OTHER instead of your curtains. 💀

Our adoptable cats and kittens come fully vetted as age appropriate, including spay/neuter, vaccines and microchip, so they can start their new lives off on the right paw. 🐾

Whether you’ve been thinking about adopting one kitten or you have room for a bonded pair, siblings, or two new best friends — September is the time!

Help us make some room so we can keep saying YES when animals need us. ❤️

Our tiny new arrival is officially here and settling in.

Chema is an 8 lb Shih Tzu who came to us as an owner surrender after his owner learned they would be having a major surgery and could no longer care for him. Rather than having Chema enter an already crowded shelter system, he was able to come straight into rescue and into a foster home.

He is potty trained, uses puppy pads, does well with small dogs, and is a sweet little guy who just needs some patience while he adjusts. Chema can be nervous around new people and is scared of larger dogs, so we’re giving him time to decompress and learn that he is safe.

Now we need to get him medically caught up.

Chema still needs his neuter, heartworm test, full exam, and updated vaccines before he’ll be ready to start the next chapter of his life.

That means another vet bill coming our way almost immediately, and with so many medical cases in rescue right now, every little bit helps us keep saying yes.

If you’d like to help sponsor Chema’s vetting:

And once his vetting is underway, this tiny man will be looking for the kind of home that understands some dogs need a little extra time before they show you just how sweet they really are. 🥹

Welcome to Cactus Ranch Rescue, Chema. You’re safe now. 🐾🌵

We recently visited Ardee at America's Country Store & Pet Resort. He is a whole NEW DOG!! He came to rescue nervous, semi-shut down and just wanted to lay around. Now he is HAPPY, active and runs the store! He has the coolest life. Thank you Rabevra and family for adopting this sweet boy. He gets to go to work with mom and dad every day!

HELP US SPONSOR A SAFE SPACE FOR ONE OF OUR AMAZING FOSTER HOMES! 🐾🌵

One of our incredible foster homes regularly takes on 4–5 rescue dogs at a time, including some of the nervous, shut-down, reactive, or freshly rescued dogs who need a little extra patience and space to decompress. She is also one of the only foster’s regularly willing to take on large breed dogs.

We want to help make her home even safer for those difficult-to-place intakes by creating a completely separate outdoor area just for them.

And before anyone worries — NO, dogs will not be living outside in a kennel. 😂 These dogs live inside with their foster family. The 10x10 enclosure and dog houses are simply being added so a brand-new, nervous, or reactive dog can safely go outside, sniff around, potty, decompress, and enjoy fresh air without immediately having to share the existing yards with other foster dogs.

This is especially important when we bring in dogs whose personalities we don’t know yet. Some need slow introductions. Some are terrified. Some simply need a few days to realize they’re finally safe. Having their own little yard gives them that chance without putting the foster, the new dog, or the resident foster dogs in a stressful situation.

We’ve already purchased what’s needed to make it happen:

🐾 10x10 covered outdoor kennel: $227.30
🏠 Two weatherproof dog houses: $119.06
💛 Total investment: $346.36

We would LOVE to get this expense sponsored for a foster who gives so much of her home, time, and heart to our animals.

You can sponsor the entire setup, one of the dog houses, a portion of the kennel, or even just throw $5 or $10 toward creating a safer decompression space for the next scared dog who comes through our doors.

Every little bit helps us support the foster homes that make this rescue possible. 🌵🐾

Kinda chic to… save lives. 💅🌵

Apparently rescue is very in right now.

Kinda chic to get 21 rotten teeth out of two seniors who spent a year living outside. Kinda chic to finally start heartworm treatment on a dog who’s been suffering and waiting for someone to help him. Kinda chic to scoop up an abandoned shelter puppy and teach her what being loved feels like. Kinda chic to pull a mama and her babies out of dangerous heat and give them a safe place to grow. Kinda chic to give a flea-ridden little dog with a broken leg a warm bath and a fresh start.

And these are just a few. 🤍

Behind every silly trend is a very real animal who needed someone to say, “You matter.”

Rescue isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it’s dentals, parasites, heartworms, broken bones, emergency vet visits, sleepless nights and bills that make us want to cry.

But watching them heal? Watching them realize they’re safe? Watching them finally go home?

Extremely chic. ✨

And you know what else is kinda chic? Helping us pay for it. 💅😂

21 TEETH. $613.30. AND SOMEHOW… MINNIE & PRINCE ARE STILL HERE. 🚨

We are genuinely shocked these two haven’t been adopted yet.

Minnie and Prince came to us after spending roughly a year living outside, and when they arrived, it was obvious their little bodies had been neglected in more ways than one.

One of the biggest needs? Their mouths.

On September 1st, Minnie and Prince finally had their dentals.

And between the two of them…

TWENTY-ONE TEETH HAD TO BE PULLED.

That is not “just bad breath.”
That is not cosmetic.
That is not something that should be ignored because a dog is older.

Dental disease can be incredibly painful. Dogs are also masters at hiding discomfort, and many will continue eating, playing and acting “normal” despite significant infection or diseased teeth.

For senior dogs especially, dental care can make an enormous difference in comfort and quality of life.

And these two needed it badly.

Their dental bill alone was $613.30 — and that does NOT include everything else we’ve already covered for them: exams, vaccines, preventatives, medications, supplies, Prince’s eye testing and the rest of their medical care.

But you know what gets us?

After losing 21 teeth between them, they are recovering beautifully and are STILL the sweetest little angels.

❤️ MINNIE is a soft, gentle little soul. She’s sweet, affectionate and happy just being near her person. She has that precious senior-dog energy where she doesn’t need a whole lot from life — just somewhere comfortable, someone kind and plenty of love.

💙 PRINCE is equally precious, with a little more personality packed into his tiny body. He loves affection, enjoys being with his people and has been such a good boy through all of his exams, eye testing and medical care.

They’ve spent so much of their lives together, and we would LOVE to see them stay together…

BUT THEY CAN ABSOLUTELY BE ADOPTED SEPARATELY.

We would rather see each of them in a wonderful forever home than have either one wait indefinitely simply because someone thinks they must take both.

They deserve homes.

They deserve couches.

They deserve soft beds.

And after everything they’ve been through, they deserve to spend the rest of their lives being somebody’s spoiled little babies instead of rescue dogs waiting for their turn.

🌵 CAN YOU HELP US RECOVER SOME OF THEIR MEDICAL COSTS?

Their dentals were $613.30, and even $5, $10 or $20 helps us refill the account so we can turn around and help the next animal waiting.

Because we cannot believe we’re still saying this…

Minnie and Prince are STILL waiting for someone to choose them. 🥺🐾
