I am so very sad today. We have lost another veterinarian to su***de. Cierra Cadena was our pet sitter when she was a vet student. She was such a kind person and I never worried about leaving our herd in her care. She had been in practice only 4 months after graduating from Texas A&M in May of 2026. I have spoken about this topic before but this tragedy reminds me that my chosen profession has surpassed all others for the highest rate of su***de. I am so fortunate to have friends and clients who support me and encourage me but that is not the case for many veterinarians. So please lift a prayer for her family. And for the veterinarians who are struggling so we can finally say “not one more vet”.
