Whether you're running cattle through the chute or bringing in a family pet, having good people on your animal care team makes all the difference.

For Vet Tech Week, we’re tipping our hats to Bella and Colton for the dedication and value they bring to our clients. You’ll often find Bella chuteside working cattle—giving shots, pulling blood, and handling livestock with the kind of intense pace and attention to detail that’s hard to keep up with. Colton’s heart is focused on helping people, caring for their pets, and looking after all types of animals that come through our doors.

They both care deeply about animals and the folks who raise them. Drop a note in the comments below to let Bella and Colton know you appreciate what they do!

Producer Spotlight: Weathers Family Farms

If you ask the folks at Weathers Family Farms what they do, the answer is pretty straightforward: they raise kids, corn, and cattle. But take a closer look at their operation, and you'll see a high standard for quality behind every single animal on their place.

Their herd foundation rests on a commercial Angus cow herd bred to Hereford bulls, producing high-quality black baldie heifers and recip cows built to thrive anywhere in the country. Alongside their cattle, they raise irrigated corn, hay, and popcorn. When an animal doesn't fit their replacement herd criteria, it gets turned into an opportunity for their freezer beef business—making sure the hard work and good genetics put into that animal carry value all the way to the dinner table.

This year it's hard to find a crop anywhere that didn't take some drought stress or hail damage, and we're already seeing hay tests come back high in nitrates. If you're feeding anything that had any stress through the growing season, get it tested before you feed it. We run nitrate and forage quality testing for you, with results back in about a week. Bring us a half gallon of sample, pulled from several spots across the field, and we'll help you understand what you have to work with.

If you're planning to tag calves or replacement heifers for December, it's time to get your custom tag order in. Most orders take four to six weeks to arrive, and we don't want you stuck waiting when you need them. Stop in or give us a call to get your order started.

If you're grazing corn stalks this fall, now's a good time to check your fencer setup. We carry a full lineup of electric fencer chargers built to hold up and keep your cattle where you put them. Stop in and let us help you find the right one for your setup. Don't forget your ground rods!

We're doing one last push on the Yakta zero turns we have left before we shift focus for the season. If you've been sitting on the fence, now's the time to make us an offer. Call or stop by, we'd rather work a deal than store them through the winter.

We believe in the power of prayer. If you have a prayer request this week, big or small, personal or for someone you love, drop it in the comments or send us a message. We are honored to pray alongside this community.

The most dangerous spot on any operation is a poor chute, or a good one that's been let go. All the pressure of working cattle gets concentrated right there, and that's exactly where your people are standing. When you buy a quality chute, you're not buying something you'll replace in a few years. You're buying something that should still be running long after you've handed the operation off. Buy it once. Buy it right.

Weeds and grass are getting out of control in places and it is not going to cut itself. We have Yakta zero turns on the ground and the season is winding down. Call and we'll tell you what's left and what it takes to move it.
