Socialization comes in many forms. Every outing is an opportunity for your puppy to experience new sights, sounds, smells, people, food, traffic, and other dogs(safely). Remember, socialization doesn’t mean your puppy has to greet everyone, they can simply observe, process, and learn to relax in different environments.

Reward the behaviors you want to see, like calmly lying down, waiting patiently, and checking in with you. Those quiet moments build confidence just as much as active interactions.

MMKs Truitt was a superstar at Baked on Maine today, calmly taking it all in and showing just how rewarding thoughtful socialization can be!

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but one of the biggest predictors of success isn’t the puppy…it’s the consistency of the people raising them.

When everyone uses the same commands, rewards the same behaviors, and follows the same routines, puppies learn faster and become more confident.
