The Gladys Porter Zoo joins the local community in mourning the loss of our friend, RJ Mitte. We are deeply saddened by the news of his passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

RJ was a dear friend and supporter of the Zoo who consistently used his platform to uplift our community. He was always happy to lend his support to local organizations within Brownsville and the Mitte Cultural District, making a meaningful difference in the community he cared so much about.

His kindness, generosity, and light will never be forgotten.
