**CONTACT FOSTER FOR MEET & GREET OR ANSWERS***
This is Bentley, he came in with his brother Watson after his owner was moved to an assisted living facility.
Bentley is a talkative fellow when he wants to be, he sometimes acts like he's a big dog trapped in a little dog's body. Bentley gets along with other dogs (prefers medium to smaller dogs, is nervous slightly around large dogs). He is getting use to cats as he has had limited exposure to them but has a gentle curiosity for them. Bentley has been around children 12 yrs and older and does just fine.
Bentley does have a birth defect that is common in Shih Tzus and mixes of them called ALD short for Angular Limb Deformity. His right front leg has that birth defect. The ALD does not slow him down and does not give him much grief or pain most of the time. The care for him is not anything you wouldn't already do for a little dog let alone any dog. Management is to keep him lean at an ideal weight, a good dog food, keep up on nail trims, provide ramps or pet stairs to higher surfaces like the bed or couch. He can benefit from a good joint supplement to keep arthritic issues pushed out to years from now, and gentle exercise like walks and limit running around to his ability.
Bentley is neutered, microchipped, tested for Heartworm, Parvo, Giardia and Coccidia, all of which he is negative for. Bentley is UTD on shots, other than Rabies which he will be getting boostered 7/17/26. We are hoping to be setting up meet and greets with him after that vaccine. He has been started on heartworm prevention and his flea/tick prevention. Bentley does not have to be adopted with his brother but if he is, the adoption fee will be discounted if he is adopted with Watson. There is a rehoming/adoption fee.
If you would like more information, please contact the foster parent, as they are handling all aspects of the adoption. Call/text (218)371-1212 or (218)640-1930. Inquiries after 9pm will not be returned until next day.
