Happy National Pug Day!

This year, we wanted to honor a very special (mostly) pug in our life: Stitch! Stitch is 3/4 pug and 1/4 chihuahua and belongs to our wonderful RVT Leslie. He comes to work with her almost every day, full of energy and love to share with all his work aunts and uncles.

Fun fact about pugs: they are one of the oldest known breeds; invented in China over 2000 years ago to be the companions of emperors!

If you have a pug in your life, make sure to give them extra snuggles and wish them a happy national pug day!

Yesterday, Ivan and Dmitri came in to get neutered. When they woke up, they decided to try and save their parents some money by working off their procedure costs. They spent the rest of the morning answering phones, doing their own notes, and even trimming each other's nails.

Thank you Wilson family for trusting us with the care of your sweet boys and thank you boys for trying to make our jobs a little easier.

**Disclaimer: this is all in good fun. No phone calls were answered by kittens, and both of their nails were trimmed by their surgical team**

Today is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day!

The first step to fixing obesity is knowing how to look for it. The next step is knowing what to do. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you feel more informed about pet obesity and what to do if you're noticing your furry friend is looking a little plump. Preventing and managing canine and feline obesity helps prevent and manage other diseases such as diabetes and arthritis.

If you have tried all these tips and tricks, ask your veterinary team for help! There may be something more going on that requires further diagnostics. There are also prescription weight loss foods that we can try.
