I believe in full transparency when it comes to the health of our cats. Sage's Wisdom Panel results came back today. She is a single copy carrier for Factor XII & PKD. Being a carrier simply means that she can pass the mutated copy on to her offspring (Two mutated copies are needed for the kittens to be negatively impacted). She is healthy and not at risk for any detrimental issues due to the single mutated copy. The same will be true for her offspring. She will be bred to a NON CARRIER, CLEAR, male in hopes to retain a completely clear female for our cattery. All kittens will be genetic tested and families given the opportunity to make their own informed decision on whether they want or do not want to make one of Sage's kittens part of their family.
