And just like that⦠another season comes to a close. This weekend marked our final event of the season, and as the last dogs made their runs and the excitement of the weekend faded away, that familiar bittersweet feeling began to creep in. There's a part of me that's ready to reclaim my weekends, to slow down a little, catch my breath, and enjoy some much-needed quiet. But there's another part of me that isn't quite ready to say goodbye to the happy chaos, the wagging tails, the excited barks, the laughter, and all the wonderful people and dogs who bring this place to life.
Soon, the grounds that have been filled with so much energy and excitement will grow still. The dock will rest, the Fast CAT track will fall silent, and the echoes of paws pounding the ground and dogs splashing into the water will become sweet memories of another incredible season.
And oh, how long the road to spring can feel! There are cold winds to weather, frosty mornings to endure, and many quiet weekends stretching out ahead of us. I know I'll enjoy that peace for a little while⦠but I also know that before long, the silence will start to feel a little too loud.
But the beauty of every ending is the promise of another beginning. Before we know it, winter will loosen its icy grip, the grass will turn green, the sunshine will warm our faces, and this little piece of land we love so much will come alive once again.
The air will ring with joyful barking, the thunder of paws racing down the Fast CAT track, the cheers of proud owners, and that glorious SPLASH as another dock diving dog takes flight!
Until then, we'll hold tight to the memories, the friendships, the laughter, and the countless moments that made this season so special. To everyone who spent a weekend with us, brought a dog to play, cheered from the sidelines, or helped make this season what it was β thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are the reason this place is so much more than just a place for dogs to run and jump. You've helped make it a place where friendships grow, memories are made, and a shared love of dogs brings us all together.
So here's to a little rest, a little quiet, and a winter spent dreaming of sunshine, flying dogs, and muddy paws. The grounds may be going quiet for now, but the joy they hold is simply waiting for spring. Until we meet again⦠keep those tails wagging!
