BRER is going to offer something a little different.

Have you ever wanted to get to know one of our herd members better? Want to know where Paris' itchy spots are? What Georgies favorite pastime is? Ever want to go for a walk down a trail with Tommy? How about simply learn how to brush Marley? or stand with Beau while he grazes on the lawn. Want to learn how to be safe around a horse? How to read their body language and start to have a two way conversation with them?

We are very careful who we allow to handle our horses. They have all been through so much trauma and they deserve to have people handle them with respect, with knowledge and with love. Through our new program, you can learn how to read their emotions, what they like and what they dont. Are they simply tolerating something? or do they actually enjoy what we are doing with them?

For $50, you can choose your horse (depending on what you would like to do we may choose one for you), and spend 30 minutes learning, relaxing, breathing, brushing, walking, sitting, taking pictures, meditating, learning to communicate and simply enjoying the company of that horse, one on one. A BRER member will be with you then entire time, teaching, sharing and helping you learn more about the horse you have for that half hour.

Spots are going to be very limited for a while. Call, message or text with questions. Before signing up we will send you a questionnaire to learn more about who you are, what you hope to do and which horse you would like to know a little better.

Each ticket is $10 and when we receive your money, a ticket with your information will be added to the drawing. There will be 1 winner for each day in May.

The second thing we would like to say this morning..... we hope you will all come out tomorrow, Saturday the 11th and browse our huge tack sale, visit the craft table, eat a few snacks and stick around at noon when we will be introducing each horse and donkey individually, telling their stories (or what we know anyway) and answering any questions you may have. Tickets for the calendar raffle will be on sale as well as tshirts and sweatshirts. Its going to be a nice day and we hope to see you all!

Edited: open house and tack sale tomorrow Saurday April 11

first thing this morning we would like to do is thank everyone that donated to BRER through the month of March at the Blue Hill Co-op Change for Good program. We are excited, beyond grateful and so humbled to have received the check yesterday - $3,304.84!!!!!! This amount will more then cover the cost of Boots surgery. The extra will go towards he rehabilitation, extensive and ongoing hoof care and help with training from Chris Lombard Horsemanship. This little donkey exemplifies what living in our community is all about. It certainly takes a village, not only to raise a child but to save a donkey as well.
