Joanna has been working hard on transitioning from the lunge to independent riding at the posting trot.

She posting trotted nearly a whole lap this week in her lesson! We celebrated with cooling out together in the field. So much fun! Proud of this young lady!!

Yesterday I took Montserrat & Gabriella to clinic with John Abbott! What a great opportunity for these young ladies.

John is a wonderful clinician and trainer. The girls enjoyed their lessons and left the ring feeling empowered. They both have not been to an off property clinic before and were a bit intimidated by the idea. Both of them remembered to breathe, learn, and listen. Great day for sure.

Big thanks to Ashley Peters at Southern Sky Farm for hosting at your farm. Big thanks to Alex Thaxton for setting this clinic up! The younger riders rarely get opportunities to ride with the big clinicians. Very excited they got the chance!

Montse and Echo did the 2’ group and did some new exercises to challenge them. Echo is the best boy and so good at teaching her all the things. Oxers are new this year for them. Fun to see her successfully do things nervous and succeed. Those are the building blocks of confidence and education.

Gabby rode Turbo for the last time yesterday as she’s just gotten her own pony this week. It was bitter sweet seeing them yesterday, but she cantered an entire course for the first time away from home. She is so coachable and had fun learning from Mr Abbott! What a send off for them as a team.

Camp day 3 was a big success!

Campers did relay races on horseback today!

First relay was an obstacle course.
The other was riding with one shoe on and the other was at the end of the arena in a big pile. They had to ride stirrupless to the pile, hop off, find their shoe and put it back on, then get back to their team to help the next rider on! So fun.

Then we tie dyed camp shirts, did a scavenger hunt, had lunch, and jumped a course on foot under the sprinklers in the arena!!

So proud of the kids. They were all so brave and helpful and thoughtful!

Day 2 was AMAZING!!

Today the campers made bridle or bag charms, learned about the different parts of the horse using a live horse and markers, and all rode so well in their lessons! We finished the day with some fun in the sprinklers!

Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Check out our parent feedback I got today after camp from different parents:

“Wish camp was longer. Seems like she’s having such a good time!”

“Sarah the confidence I see in her right now is incredible 2 days
I’m in shock.”

“She is loving it!! You are doing an awesome job!! 🤩👏👏”

Great first day of camp with these guys!! Everybody learned how to catch a horse, lead, groom, tack up, mount, drop and pick up stirrups, halt, walk, and got to walk over small crossrails! Every camper made a photo frame. They all learned how to take care of a horse and helped do some barn chores! Great day and great campers!

Can’t wait to do it again tomorrow!!

I have to say, no lessons have been cancelled due to arena footing. The ring drained the huge amount of rain we have gotten daily since last week.

Our arena has:
*an expansive French drain system underneath the base and footing
*extra base under the footing
*above ground drains as well
*was built to be at the highest point of the farm to avoid flooding

We later installed stadium lighting and a sprinkler system! Soon to come will be a viewing area for parents to sit!

Girls are gearing up!

Baby Vinny & Morgan are now cantering verticals! So excited that he’s making the progress he is.

Nicole & Ted are schooling higher despite their love of the 2’/2’3”. Nicole is the queen of the long approaches. Her eye is impressive.

Madilyn & Pardi are continuing to build Pardi’s consistency over bigger and harder tracks. Her flat work has come a long way this last year and it shows over fences!

Such a fun lesson this morning!

Jenny and Ted hit a major milestone yesterday in their lesson! This is Jenny’s very first time cantering jumps on Ted! She’s a wonderful coachable student and of course Ted is the absolute best. These moments for students accomplishing a goal are so special.

Congrats on reaching this goal JJennifer Maria Sifuentes
