I took the pony kids to show at HJ Fox this weekend and we had so much fun! Their Halloween show is always a good time with lots of extra fun costume classes and themed competitions!!
Hadley did her 2nd show, but on a new horse. Not only a new horse, but Sunday I added her first jumping classes ever! I also made her canter them instead of trot them. She rode our lesson pony, Chaplain, and he was also a rockstar. He was brave in the windy conditions, helpful when he needed to be, and an all around good boy. They took Reserve Champion Saturday and Grand Champion Sunday in their beginner flats. They also had Reserve Champion in the beginner crossrails!
Montse took her lease pony, Echo, to their second show competing in the competitive division of Short Stirrup. Toughest courses she’s shown over, but won her first over fences trip Saturday!! She’s starting to be more consistent and able to ride the strides in the lines! Very excited to see these two continue to develop.
Gabby began a lease on a pony a few months ago. It’s both hers and the pony’s first full lease! It was also the third show for them both. Ellie is a stunning and talented welsh pony out of Wellington, but not a packer yet. She is learning how to horse show while Gabby does the same. Not an easy thing, but with the village at CSF we have they finished the weekend with very respectable ribbons and classes. More importantly, with more experience and more trust in one another. Gabby cantered her first full course at a show Sunday too. Very proud of her and Ellie!!
Thanks to both Nicole and Madilyn for taking time out of your busy weekend to drive to the horse park just to support these girls, their ponies, and myself. You two are a blessing to us all.
It takes a village and we certainly have a wonderful one. Great job girls!! Looking forward to the next show.
