What do these two kittens have in common? Quite a bit as it turns out! Both were rescued just yesterday, though separately. The kitten on the left was a surrender at Bond Vet and the kitten on the right was rescued from a tree in Brower Park right here in . Both kittens are female, both have received basic veterinary care and are in good health, both are about 10 weeks, both need a buddy to play with and, most importantly, BOTH NEED A FOSTER HOME!

FOSTERS NEEDED! Check out these cats & kittens and if someone plucks the old heartstrings fill out our Foster Q&A (link in bio).

Kittens (12 wks)
6 adorable babes who came to us with their mama. Playful, cuddly, curious, and absurdly cute, these kiddos can be placed in pairs, trios, or maybe even as a complete set of six? 😁

Maurice & Beatrix (8 wks)
Siblings rescued from a truly horrifying location. One kitten is calm & social, while the other needs a patient and loving hand to help him blossom 🌼

Salvador (2-4 yrs)
A gentle boy pulled from the same location as the kittens. Sweet-natured Salvador just wants to be friends with you and needs a safe and patient home for that to happen.

Pablo (2-4 yrs)
Another survivor of the hellhole, he is brave, affable, gentle and curious, good as a single or with other feline friends. An all around great guy.

Georgia (2-4 yrs)
This courageous girl, also from the hellhole, is recovering from a severe case of flea dermatitis. She is also vision impaired, but her spirit remains intact! Georgia is ready to heal both physically and emotionally. Please help us help her.

Ruby (3-5 yrs)
Appeared outside a home in Midwood last year with kittens who were adopted through us. Now it’s Ruby’s turn! Sweet, social and friendly, this charmer could happily live with a feline friend or as an adored only cat! 

Mr. Lolo (11 mo)
Rescued from a cat colony, little Mr. Lolo had a rough start. Hypothermic and in bad shape from a flea infestation, he started life in a tiny vest to keep him warm. Now he’s a happy, gentle guy who LOVES to play! 

Pishi (4 wks)
This wee babe already has a HUGE fan base! Pishi is eating on his own now and needs a safe place to grow and learn to use the litter box. Fostering such a life is an incredibly rewarding foster gig and we will be there for you every step of the way! 🍼

Jersey (3-4 yrs)
Playful! Great with kids! Family cat! Jersey will need to move soon from her current foster sitch, but she is also ready for adoption.

Three cats from the Rogers Ave location were neutered at the yesterday. One of the adults has a white tipped tail, like it was dipped in a paint bucket, so we named him Pablo after Picasso. One of the kittens has a white-tipped tail too and we are thinking she is probably his daughter.

One of the kittens is still pretty scared but they are generally making good progress with socialization. Hand feeding is helping. The third kitten is in foster care a very short distance from where he was rescued.

These are truly nice cats who were severely neglected. Please foster to help us get to know them or donate to help us provide them with medical care.

Pebble’s story is a bit unusual for us, but one that very much exemplifies our belief that cats are unique individuals.

Pebble had kittens in the backyard of her rescuer’s home when she was basically a kitten herself. Her loving rescuer wanted to give Pebble a chance at being a spoiled house cat, so she transitioned her inside. Pebble made some progress with social skills, but unfortunately, the resident cat wasn’t enamored, so we agreed to receive Pebble and try her in a home with a playful cat in need of a friend.

It’s not unusual for cats to hide for a spell in a new home, but Pebble hid for months. She did not make friends with the resident cat either and just generally seemed unhappy. So, we moved her to a home where she was the only cat. Same thing—hiding and hissing. Despite placing her with some of our most gentle, experienced foster caregivers, she was deeply unhappy and it broke all of our hearts.

After much discussing and planning, we decided that Pebble would probably be happiest back in her rescuer’s enclosed backyard where she would have shelter, the promise of regular meals, and love on *her* terms. Pebble could have FREEDOM while always having a safe home waiting for her.

Fast forward to just a few weeks after her return and Pebble is a changed cat! She is social, curious, and undeniably happy. She hangs around the yard during the day, goes on short quests, then comes home for meals. She’s excited to see her people! We’ve never seen such light in her eyes!

Pebble’s life is not for every cat. When our rescue cats go to their adoptive homes, it is with the agreement that they will be exclusively indoor cats. Most cats find happiness this way. But there are cats who need something else… We thank Pebble for her patience with us while she was telling us what she needed. It is our hope to be able to help more cats like her in the future.

Adopt Lewis! 🤎Greetings! My name is Lewis. I came to Good Home when I appeared in a nice human’s shed and seemed a little lost and in need of some love. Now I live in a foster home and I’m so happy to have a human to snuggle with, toys to play with, and new friends to charm!

I’m a real people cat – you’ll never have a more devoted companion than me. I follow my foster human from room to room chirping adorably and waiting for a chance to cuddle up or hop into his lap. When new people come over to visit, I am very curious about them and love being a good host. At bedtime, I will fall asleep by your side and cheerfully wake up next to you in the morning.

When I’m not snuggled up at your side I like to play with the wand toy. I can also play by myself, wrestling with my stuffed animals or enjoying the occasional zoomies! I’m a great couch pal as I am very into watching your favorite shows with you. A chill weekend binging a series sounds great to me.

I would be happiest in a home with moderate activity and humans who enjoy my company as much as I enjoy theirs. My foster person doesn’t know if I’ve lived with kids or dogs so he isn’t sure how I’d do, but I recently met the neighbor’s cat in the hallway and I was quite curious and friendly! I might do well with a chill cat pal who matches my affable vibe. I’m a loving, companionable, inquisitive boy who wants nothing more than a human to call my own. Could that be you?

They’re all inside now—nine cats from one truly horrific location. Three are feral kittens and the rest are adults with varying levels of comfort with people, though all can be touched which suggests they’ve had humans in their lives. A few definitely seem to be former indoor cats. Mysteriously, several of them have back paw injures… but they are safe inside now with full bellies and access to soft beds.

This was the easy part. It’s getting them the medical care they need, fundraising for that, finding foster homes and then, hopefully, forever homes that is time consuming and very expensive. Each cat is unique and requires dedicated attention to be able to provide the quality of life and treatment they deserve.

Please consider donating. Their veterinary care will cost far more than $100 per cat but this $900 fundraiser will be a good start. If you can’t donate please consider fostering. Don’t forget to like, share and repost to get the cats the exposure they need. We need your help, the cats need your help.

Today’s big news is that 3 week old Pishi ate solid food for the first time 🥹.

Open Streets was loads of fun, many thanks to everyone who donated items to sell, baked cookies and helped us out with staffing.

The day ended by bringing in the remaining six cats from the hellhole on Rogers. They all went into carriers baited with food. It took 16 minutes from start to finish. No more fleas, no more empty tummies, no more kittens. Besides needing basic care which will cost at least $200 hundred per cat, several of them have injured paws. If you can help us out with a donation the cats will truly benefit. They receive the very best care thanks to our donors and generous vet partners.

The Lounge is open this weekend 6/6 & 6/7! Visit with adoptable, rescued cuties 12-5 pm ($6) 🤗 But that’s not all… Today, Saturday, is also the first day of OPEN STREETS! Franklin Ave is closed to traffic from Atlantic Ave to Eastern Parkway and open to pedestrians only. Find us in front of Beastie Bestie (751 Franklin Ave) with baked goods, handmade jewelry and thrift items (household, clothing, books, sundries—think BARGAINS!) all in support of Good Home’s cats and kittens. We’ll also have our resident cat therapist on hand to talk through any feline problems you may be having. We LOVE problems! Come get some free advice, a cookie, a good book or a trinket. See you there!

Please consider fostering or donating so we can help these cats (links in bio). We are bursting at the seams. The only reason they aren’t inside yet is because we have to clear a path for them. They were flea treated today, trapping will start tomorrow and they’ll go to the ASPCA on Tuesday. All allowed pats today. Several have injured paws and are limping. This is how Good Home came to be—rescuing street cats who weren’t thriving, providing medical care including spay-neuter and then finding them good homes. TNR 100% works but these cats can’t go back to this location. They deserve recovery, safety and love.

Every day we get pics from fosters, rescuers and the employees who love and care for the cats in the lounge. Here’s a recap of some of today’s comms…

Ringworm kittens’ recovery is progressing. These two are so incredible cute and loving. Ringworm is annoying but totally treatable.

We’re working on a new trapping project. When we arrived there were 3 kittens (they are inside now) and 6 adult cats, several of whom are friendly and appear to be injured in some way. We need fosters!

17 lb Pugsley came to us from ACC and is already winning his foster’s heart ❤️

Jersey arrived last week in the arms of her 10 yo human. Long story short the family was moving and couldn’t take J with them. The kid has visited us a couple of times since we received Jersey (spayed yesterday and now in foster care) and everyone at and Good Home wants this kid to feel welcome and reassured that her baby is in good hands. Hats off to the staff for the love they show the cats and community 🤗

A few cute pics for ya of Francois’ progress in the lounge. He is the cutest little big guy you’ll ever meet. So gentle and unassuming. One of our volunteers thinks Francois’d make an awesome buddy for a football game 💕

The next movie is of Tiger (tabby) who is in foster care and getting all the love from bro Salem. Salem was adopted from us last year after he was rescued from the street. Tiger hails from a S Bklyn cat colony and was rescued by trapper

Then there’s a cute pic of Oberon and Pearl who made friends in the lounge. Pearl is kind of maternal and Oberon is a cute little bro/son. Both are adoptable (together would be huge!).

And last but not least little Pishi, who has had some health struggles, turned 3 weeks old today! He was found in a nearby backyard, no mama or sibs nearby. He’s had two vet visits already for a URI and suspected cleft palette but his mouth is actually ok.

And that is the news of the day. Oh! Actually no that’s not all. We signed a lease in a new space up the street today 😅 More on that later.
