Please consider fostering or donating so we can help these cats (links in bio). We are bursting at the seams. The only reason they aren’t inside yet is because we have to clear a path for them. They were flea treated today, trapping will start tomorrow and they’ll go to the ASPCA on Tuesday. All allowed pats today. Several have injured paws and are limping. This is how Good Home came to be—rescuing street cats who weren’t thriving, providing medical care including spay-neuter and then finding them good homes. TNR 100% works but these cats can’t go back to this location. They deserve recovery, safety and love.

Every day we get pics from fosters, rescuers and the employees who love and care for the cats in the lounge. Here’s a recap of some of today’s comms…

Ringworm kittens’ recovery is progressing. These two are so incredible cute and loving. Ringworm is annoying but totally treatable.

We’re working on a new trapping project. When we arrived there were 3 kittens (they are inside now) and 6 adult cats, several of whom are friendly and appear to be injured in some way. We need fosters!

17 lb Pugsley came to us from ACC and is already winning his foster’s heart ❤️

Jersey arrived last week in the arms of her 10 yo human. Long story short the family was moving and couldn’t take J with them. The kid has visited us a couple of times since we received Jersey (spayed yesterday and now in foster care) and everyone at and Good Home wants this kid to feel welcome and reassured that her baby is in good hands. Hats off to the staff for the love they show the cats and community 🤗

A few cute pics for ya of Francois’ progress in the lounge. He is the cutest little big guy you’ll ever meet. So gentle and unassuming. One of our volunteers thinks Francois’d make an awesome buddy for a football game 💕

The next movie is of Tiger (tabby) who is in foster care and getting all the love from bro Salem. Salem was adopted from us last year after he was rescued from the street. Tiger hails from a S Bklyn cat colony and was rescued by trapper

Then there’s a cute pic of Oberon and Pearl who made friends in the lounge. Pearl is kind of maternal and Oberon is a cute little bro/son. Both are adoptable (together would be huge!).

And last but not least little Pishi, who has had some health struggles, turned 3 weeks old today! He was found in a nearby backyard, no mama or sibs nearby. He’s had two vet visits already for a URI and suspected cleft palette but his mouth is actually ok.

And that is the news of the day. Oh! Actually no that’s not all. We signed a lease in a new space up the street today 😅 More on that later.

Francois arrived at Good Home a couple of weeks ago—in a pillow case. He’s a big boy, weighing in at 14 lbs! He got his name because he’s all white except for a gray tabby tail and a gray spot on the left side of his head that looks like he’s wearing a beret. He’s an absolute sweetheart, a gentle giant, and you can meet him in our Cat Lounge this weekend 12-5 and Weds-Thurs 2-7. Come meet all of our adoptable rescued cuties, including Pishi, who is 2 weeks old now! He was found alone in a backyard here in Crown Heights at one day old. Any bottle feeders out there want to join our team and help care for him?

Adopt Cheddar! 🧡

Hello my name is Cheddar! I came to Good Home when a nice lady took me in after I was dumped on the street. Despite my unfortunate start, I’m now a cheerful, friendly boy living it up in the Cat Lounge!

I’m such a fun hang out buddy. I’m social and curious – when new people come to the Lounge, I like to say hello and get pats and scratches from them! I may not be a lap cat, but I’d love to share the couch with you. The humans think I’d make a great Netflix pal. Good-natured and a people cat, I’m really good company.

I enjoy exploring my space and finding a perch or cubby to observe the goings on in the room. And while I’m independent and can entertain myself, I’m always happy for some pats and scratches. I enjoy the company of people and most cats, though I will let other cats know if I need my space. That being said, I’m not aggressive. Every human who meets me is charmed by my funny and engaging demeanor!

I’d be happiest in a home with moderate activity and a human who gives me lots of love but is also okay with giving me space. My foster people don’t know if I’ve lived with kids or dogs before, so they aren’t sure how I’d do, but they seem to think I’d do best living with adults and only feline friends. I could either live with a cat friend who matches my energy and isn’t up in my face or as a single cat with a loving person. I’m a bright, affectionate, and inquisitive boy who would love a human to call my own. Could that be you?

Adopt Trouble! 🖤

Hi there! My name is Trouble, but don’t let my name fool you, I’m a sweet, affectionate boy. I came to Good Home when the nice, older man I lived with couldn’t keep up with my playful energy! Now I’m in foster care with , and while I’m still bright and playful, my feline foster sibling is helping me find other (more chill) ways to use my energy.

I’m a curious boy who always wants to know what my person is up to. I’ll follow you around the home as you go about your daily routine, cook your meals, or get ready for bed. I’m not a lap cat but I love being next to my person. I especially enjoy sleeping next to my foster person’s head when she goes to sleep! I like to flop down anywhere for attention and I’m such a charmer I rarely get denied.

I get along really well with my feline foster sibling and love playing and hanging out with him. And while I play well with him and my human – I love the wand toy! – I’m also very good at entertaining myself. I love mouse toys and bouncy spring toys, but one of my favorite toys is a set of chopsticks! I carry them around with me and it’s ridiculously cute (so say the humans).

I would be happiest in a moderately active home with a calm human and friendly cat buddy. I would not be happy living as a single cat. And while I’m a playful, gentle boy, I’ve never lived with a dog or children so my foster isn’t sure how I’d do. I’m a spirited, eager, curious cat who would bring joy and affection to any home I call my own. Could that home be yours?

ADOPT RIVER! 💜
Hello there I’m River! I was born in a warehouse in Brooklyn and came to Good Home via a trapping project. Now I live in the Cat Lounge with my friends and I’m living it up snoozing, socializing, and watching the world from the heights of my favorite perch!

Gentle and well-mannered, I’m a calm, inquisitive boy who always has an eye on what’s going on with my home. Though I’m very much a lounging cat with an independent streak, I have my moments where I like to investigate what’s going on in the household. I’d be a wonderful work-from-home buddy – keeping an eye on your work and offering notes from time to time. You’ll never find a more chill or supportive office mate!

When I’m in the mood for pats I’m not afraid to ask for them. My favorite is neck scratches – I might even crawl into your lap if you’re lucky! And if I’m in a playful mood I enjoy the wand toy or batting around mouse toys. When I’m done with playtime, I love a high up spot to nap and observe my people.

I would be happy in a quiet to moderately active household that has room for both playtime, snuggle time, and alone time. I could possibly do well in a home with gentle kids & loving grownups. I haven’t lived with a dog so I’m not sure how I’d do, but I am quite happy living with feline friends and would likely do best with calm cat pals in my forever home. I’m a chill, quirky, gentle boy who would make any home more peaceful and bright. Could that home be yours?
