Our sweet Sheba.💜 A few weeks ago, Sheba was not acting herself. Her loving foster suspected a UTI and promptly took her to the vet. She began meds. She then started to notice some difficulty breathing, and slowing down her eating (and our girl Shebs licks her The Farmer's Dog clean).

So yesterday Sheba went to the vet and after a few tests and X-rays they discovered she had cancerous tumor on her belly that mesastatized to her lungs.

We are so sad for our Sheba girl. She has come so far over the last year and was about to start new training. She had 1 app these last 365 days and right before their meet he adopted a dog from the shelter. It wasn’t meant to be.

Sheba’s foster has been her home all along. Rebecca has been the solid foundation and love that Sheba always needed. She gave her the time, attention, and patience to be the best version of herself.

So what now? Sheba is no longer adoptable on our sites— she is home. 🏡 🥺 We are helping Rebecca plan beach days, and ways to spoil Sheba beyond belief. We love this chonky, force of nature of a dog, and will make sure every day she has left is fun, and full of love. 💕

We are absolutely devastated we haven’t been able to help Rocky. 💔Rocky is an 8 yr old, 70 lbs handsome loyal boy. He and his brother Rambo lived in a home together for 7 yrs. They were surrendered to the shelter together a year ago. They were as bonded as they come.

A few weeks ago, Rambo suddenly passed. Now Rocky sits by the door waiting for the shelter staff to bring his brother for playtime. He’s left alone and sad without the only constant and security in his life. 💔

Yet still, after weeks of pleading no one has come forward to foster Rocky. 🏡

💙Rocky is loyal, calm, and quietly brave. He loves exploring and staying close to his people. He’s a true gentle soul with a hear of hold.

🚨FOSTER NEEDED 🚨 Despite all of our posts and shares, Rocky, Coco, and Percy have had no applications.

Rocky is 8 yrs old and up until last month, he had his brother Rambo by his side. His brother passed of cancer and now Rocky is alone and still at the shelter. He’s a sweet, fun boy that loves to run around in the yard. He’s needs a home where he can grieve and decompress. He’s been at the shelter a year— he and his brother were bonded and only available together. 💔

Coco was on the with euth list because he was struggling with kennel stress. He has no aggression, he simply has trouble settling down. He’s indifferent to other dogs, just needs a foster that can show him how to be a good boy in a house. We just know once in a home he will thrive.

Percy is a senior, that finds himself in danger because he’s going blind. Not because he’s aggressive, or has behavioral issues but because his health so declining.

We really need fosters for these 3 deserving boys.

Adoptable Bailey said rainy days but make it fashion! This handsome boy looks great in his sparkpaws raincoat and his Crafted By Ney bandana!

He’s a perfect 7 yr old gentleman at a svelte 50 lbs. He absolutely loves his people and does well with a fur playmate. He is always up for an adventure or learning new tricks, but just as happy lying around watching TV. ✨

Bailey is such a love, he has an actual heart on his back. He’s destined to make someone’s life better. 💙

Bettie is loving, goofy, sweet and we can’t get enough of her! This sweet senior is a couch loving, fun girl who is looking for her forever!

This 12 yr old, 55 lb girl is the ultimate house hippo. A sweet, gentle, chill angel who loves humans (big and small) and enjoys relaxing on the couch.

Bettie is besties with her fosters little human, and after slow intros does well with the resident dog! She’s made a great addition to any family.

At TPR we love an underdog. But what comes along with pulling medical & behavioral dogs is a longer wait for them to be adopted.

These are our long timers- Sheba, Cola, Major, Scooby, Bailey, and Felicity. They’ve been in our care from 8 months to over a year.

They are all great, loving, misunderstood dogs. They’d make a great addition to any home. They may require patience, training, boundaries, understanding but they’d be loyal, gentle, and so grateful.

Days like today we think about the 6 dogs we’ve been trying to get into foster— Brody, Coco, Percy, Rocky, Pearl, and Mannu— with no luck. And we think about our long timers and their devoted fosters… who we’d love to see adopted.

We love what we do, and our mission remains the same— until every shelter cage is empty, be their voice— but some days it just feels harder than others. If you can, please share our pups to help us find them homes.
