A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
As a Veterinary Technician at our animal hospital, you play a key role on our team and in our day-to-day operations. You provide excellent nursing care, such as wound management, ear cleaning, and fluid administration. With precision, you dispense and administer medications, vaccines, injectables, and treatments as prescribed by our veterinarians. You keep accurate and up-to-date medical records at all times. In addition to your attentiveness to the direct care needs of animals, you are conscientious about helping to keep everything clean, sanitized, organized, and well-stocked.
You carefully administer anesthesia and assist the doctors during medical procedures. To assist in the diagnosis and treatment of health problems, you collect blood and urine samples and place IV catheters. You prepare the sterile packs, monitoring equipment, and surgery suite for surgical procedures with extreme care and attention to detail. Adhering to all safety procedures, you perform diagnostic tests such as radiographs, in-house bloodwork, and cytology. Whether working with animals or people, you are patient, thoughtful, and kind. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
5 years of experience in a veterinary setting OR completed vet tech schooling or certification
Passion for helping pets and their owners
Are you patient and able to remain calm during stressful and emergency situations? Can you effectively prioritize multiple tasks? Are you detail-oriented? Do you work well in a team environment? If so, you might just be perfect for this Veterinary Technician position!
