Need more reasons to not be a jerk?

A brief act of abandonment quickly turned into a story that has spread widely online.

According to reports circulating on social media, security footage showed a man leaving his dog on a dark street before driving away. Not long after, lightning struck and his vehicle reportedly crashed into a pole.

Authorities later reviewed the footage, charged the man with animal abandonment, and took him into custody. The dog survived the ordeal and was adopted by local police officers. He now lives safely at the station, surrounded by care and attention.

While the circumstances surrounding the crash have fueled discussion, many are focusing on the positive outcome for the dog. What began as a painful moment ended with safety, accountability, and a second chance.

Another day another vet bill. Bevin is loved by so many but he has been quite a handful with his health issues. He is one of the coolest cats ever and he has been through quite a lot way before he was even dumped at our doorstep. Today he is back with his vet to see why he stopped eating and drinking. We suspect he has IBD which means super strict diet, monitoring etc … please help us help him. There is not one person who met him that has not fallen in love with him. Please consider making a tax deductible donation vie Venmo or PayPal [email protected] thank you in advance. We are still waiting to find out what our next option for him is❤️❤️

Luca has come such a long way from the day she was dumped , stuffed in a crate full of fleas, cat p**p and dry cat food to the brim… with another cat on a day with below zero temp. Dumped like an old shoe. She was full of scabs to the point that we couldn’t find a spot to add any flea ointments…but look at her now… like a Phoenix Rising she is now healthy, well fed, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and SNAP test negative. She is super friendly with a very unique vocal communication style. We just love her and how she finds an amazing low stress forever home with someone who will be committed to her wellbeing. If you can’t adopt, please share and please consider main a tax deductible donation via Venmo or PayPal: [email protected] so we can help more cats like Luca. Funding is what limits us. Thank you in advance! ❤️ images by

Silky found her puuuurrrfect forever home and we are beyond happy about it. She has been with us since last April and subliminally we really don’t want her to go…. But when the right person shows up, letting her go is the most loving thing we can do for her and for the next paws whose lives we can change. She is a permanently tiny cat with beautiful markings and just a LOVELY spirit. It’s amazing how every cat is as unique as they are and she is no different. She was the official groomer of all the cats in our shelter, regardless if they liked it or not… she made sure everyone was taken care of. We will miss her but are hearts are full knowing she now has her human that will love her as we always hoped she would be. To hep more cats like Silky, please consider making a tax deductible donation via links in our bio. 💯 of all donations go directly to the animals that depend on us. Funding is the biggest hurdle to saving more cats like Silky. If you are not able to donate, please follow, share our work…. THANK YOU TO ALL that adopt and have supported us to help us make Silky’s future a bright one. ❤️

Jackson probably should have been named Chunky Monkey :) He is such a cute kitten that perhaps may have been eating a little bit of his siblings’ portion of food too… to help them finish faster 😜 He is now about 6-7 months old and ready for his new forever home . Neutered, vaccinated, Chipped and SNAP test negative❤️… Brother Dylan and Sister Lulu, will be posted soon. If you are unable to adopt, please consider a tax deductible donation so we can help more creatures like this one find a loving future. This little crew was born under our shelter’s window … and it’s where we found them. Adoption fees only cover a small portion of their care. No amount is too small. Thank you kn advance ❤️
