This week's Harvest Box is going to be a good one! It will feature Our Own Sungold cherry tomatoes, arugula, radishes, scallions, celery, garlic, cabbage, herbs, and sweet potato greens. We love how the Harvest Boxes are little snapshots of what's in season at that very moment. You can't get any fresher than this. Be sure to grab one before they are gone. We can't believe it's already August! Our production greenhouse has had quite the summer! After hosting the Garden Center this spring, we filled the house with other fun things: from curing garlic and onions for long storage life, to dry shelter for summer camp kids in passing summer rains. We've had a few fantastic volunteer days in the greenhouse to help us trim and clean onions and garlic. Benches are filling back up with healthy plant starts for your fall gardens and for our fields! It's been a great summer!

Misty sunrise over the over the fields this morning with the largest bachelor group of deer we’ve seen in some time. They’ll hang out together for the summer while their antlers are in velvet before separating in advance of the rut. This stunning scene is also complicated: deer put tremendous pressure on our crops, and have devastated many this growing season. Portable electric fencing, shooing them away and heads-up crop planning are some of the tools in our kit, but it is a struggle. Short take: farming is a balance and it’s a privilege to work this land with all its inhabitants.
