Hey all! Our staff may be reaching out to wiggle some appointments around as we solidify our summer trips and plans. We absolutely LOVE what we do, but we also understand how essential it is to take adequate time off from our high-demand jobs. We’ll make sure to give you several weeks notice for these changes. Did you know- the average time for burnout in our field is around 5 years. Niki has 25 years of pet professional experience including almost 20 years of grooming, and Bri is going on her 7th year of grooming. We don’t want to ever lose passion for what we do, and we appreciate all of your amazing support. We are getting super busy so make sure you give us a couple weeks notice to get your pups in!! Summer we are ready for you 🐶 ☀️ 😎 🏖️ 🍹 🙌

Just a friendly PSA on how to NOT blacklist yourself from every good grooming salon in your area. If you are dead set on bashing groomers as a whole don’t be shocked if no one of merit will take you as a client. You have literally waved your own red flag that you aren’t going to take responsibility for your pet’s condition and placed it on someone who probably saw your pet twice a year. Groomers can only groom what you MAINTAIN at home between visits. (You know…brushing and combing!) Should a good groomer be educating clients on how often to come, how to brush and comb at home and what a realistic expectation is? YESS! Are there a VAST difference of experience and professionalism between each and every groomer you may meet? ALSO YESS! Don’t throw us all into a lump category of “bad” while not wanting us professional groomers to throw you into the category of “Just another doodle owner who had no idea what they were really getting into.” When there is matting, it HURTS. Try not brushing your hair for six weeks plus and let someone rip a brush through your tangled hair and see how it feels. Groomers who refuse to literally torture your dog over saving a little bit of hair are the ones who care about your pet the most.
If you are an overwhelmed doodle owner who WANTS professional guidance on how to maintain your pet and work together with your groomer, we are definitely your people. But if you just want to throw blame and care more for
your pet’s physical appearance and not their comfort or experience, we are not your people. We ALWAYS put the pet’s needs first above owners wishes. It’s our job to advocate for your pets and educate owners and work TOGETHER for your pet’s best interest. This is how it should be! 💕

Please be honest about your pet’s behavior and history. It helps us stay safe while helping them. One well placed bite can end a grooming career, even from a small dog.

As many of you may have heard, there was a recent lawsuit involving a dog walker who was severely injured while simply trying to put booties on a client’s dog. Her case was ultimately thrown out because she was considered the “legal owner” of the dog at the time of the incident.

I feel obligated to speak on this, because this kind of ruling sets a very concerning precedent for those of us who work with animals every day.

Pet professionals—whether vet techs, groomers, walkers, or trainers—rely heavily on owners to be honest and transparent about their pet’s temperament, history, and training. Owners know their animals best. When that information isn’t shared, it puts us in situations that can quickly become dangerous.

Unfortunately, this isn’t just something that happens “elsewhere.” I was recently bitten on the job by a dog who was visiting a regular client. There was no warning given. The dog was allowed to greet me at the door and immediately bit me, completely unprovoked. After the fact, the response was: “oh, he does that sometimes.”

That situation was 100% preventable.

Simple precautions—putting the dog away, using a muzzle, or even just giving a heads-up—could have avoided that injury entirely. Instead, it became a risk that I unknowingly walked into.

One serious bite can be career-ending in this field. It’s not just “part of the job”—it’s a safety issue that deserves to be taken seriously.

This is a shared responsibility.

As pet professionals, we take every precaution we can. But we need owners to meet us halfway by being honest, proactive, and responsible when it comes to their pets’ behavior.

Our goal is always to provide safe, compassionate care—for your pets and for ourselves. Let’s work together to make that possible.
