Petiquette Hi, I'm Carly! I'm a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge & Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA), AKC Evaluator, with a B.S. Hello! This ignited my passion.

in Animal Behavior and 10+ years of experience. I offer dog training, dog walking, and pet sitting for your furry pack!🐾 My name is Carly Rosenthal, my pet journey began in 2012 at a doggy daycare, where I learned to read and understand dogs better. Later, I adopted Miko in 2015, gaining insights into puppy training. I worked at Petco for 5 years and own or have owned a bird, fish, a cat, ferrets, a hamster, and dogs, expanding my expertise in pet care. In 2015, I became a certified dog trainer through Petco's positive dog training mentorship program. I attained a bachelors degree in animal behavior in 2018. Today, I work in the veterinary field, deepening my pet health knowledge.

In positive reinforcement, the value of the reward matters!

Boring treat = "meh, maybe later." 🙄
HIGH-value treat = "YES, tell me what to do!" 🤩

That's why lives in my training kit, dogs go WILD for it, which means better focus. 🙌

Pro tip: Save your best rewards for the hard stuff like, recall, distractions, and scary situations. That's where they earn their keep! 💙

Brave girl alert! 🐾💪

Meet Ellie, she was a little fearful of the world, so we took her training on a field trip to to practice good public manners and confidence-building in the real world! 🍋

Using positive reinforcement, we worked on polite behavior out in public AND turned "scary things" into "no big deal," one treat and one brave moment at a time. 💛

And the lemonade? AMAZING. 😍

Fearful pups can learn to feel confident and behave beautifully in public, it just takes patience and the right approach! Proud of you, Ellie! 🌟

Among them were nearly 300 search and rescue dogs who worked tirelessly alongside their handlers, searching through the rubble, offering comfort to survivors and first responders alike. 🐕
