Today is a very hard day for everyone here at Merrick Animal Hospital.

To give our staff the opportunity to attend Brittney’s memorial service and spend time together remembering someone who meant so much to us, we will be closing early today at 4:00 PM and will also be closed all day Saturday. We will reopen with regular business hours on Tuesday.

Brittney cared deeply about this clinic, the people she worked alongside, and every animal she met. Her kindness and compassion touched so many lives, and she will be missed more than words can say.

We truly appreciate all of the support, patience, and kind messages we’ve received during this difficult time. Thank you for allowing us the space to honor and celebrate someone who meant the world to our team. ❤️

Today our Merrick family lost someone incredibly special. Brittney passed away this morning surrounded by love and family.

For many years, Brittney was such an important part of Merrick as a veterinary technician, but to us she was so much more than that. She was family. She was the teammate who was always there when someone needed help and the person who loved every pet that walked through our doors like they were her own. She was also always the first one planning every birthday party, celebration, or special moment for the staff because making people feel loved and cared for was just who she was.

So many of our clients watched her grow over the years and trusted her with their pets because of the genuine kindness and compassion she carried with her every single day. She made an impact on all of us in ways that are impossible to put into words.

Our hearts are absolutely broken, and we know many of yours will be too. Please keep Brittney’s family, friends, and everyone who loved her in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

We love you, Brittney. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of Merrick and of all our lives. You will always be part of this family. ❤️
