π ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL NAMASTE DAY! 31 ANIMALS SPAYED & NEUTERED! π
Yesterday was our SECOND Namaste Day Spay/Neuter Event, and we have so much to celebrate!
Thanks to the incredibly generous grant funding from the Jason Heigl Foundation, we were able to provide spay/neuter services for 8 dogs and 23 cats, ABSOLUTELY FREE to their pet parents!
That's 31 animals who will never contribute to the pet overpopulation crisis, preventing countless unwanted litters in the years to come!
But yesterday's surgeries were about more than just preventing unwanted litters. TWO of the animals we operated on were suffering from pyometra, including one cat with one of the largest pyometras our veterinarian had ever seen in a feline!
For those who may not know, pyometra is a serious, life-threatening infection of the uterus that can develop in unspayed dogs and cats (and other animals too). Without treatment, it can quickly become fatal. Spaying eliminates the risk of developing this dangerous infection, which is just one more reason why these surgeries are SO important!
Spaying and neutering doesn't just prevent unwanted litters. It can save lives, too!
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to the Jason Heigl Foundation for making these events possible. Their generosity has allowed us to eliminate the financial barrier for pet parents who might otherwise struggle to afford these services. The impact of this funding goes far beyond the 31 animals we helped yesterday, and we are so grateful to be part of it!
We also want to thank every single pet parent who brought their animals out yesterday! Thank you for trusting us with their care and for doing your part to help reduce pet overpopulation in our community.
We are truly blessed to be able to offer these services to our community and their pets, and we couldn't do it without organizations like the Jason Heigl Foundation who believe in the importance of accessible spay/neuter services.
31 animals. 8 dogs. 23 cats. Two serious infections discovered and treated. And countless unwanted litters prevented.
We'd call that a pretty successful day! ππΎ
