I made these slides 6 months ago for a service I really wanted to offer and never posted them.

The idea of a ‘rainbow crossing doula’ spoke to me, but I thought it was something people might find silly or unnecessary. I created tiers of special services, keepsakes I could make, all of it. But some ideas don’t always see the light of day.

Though, I have indeed gained a special expertise throughout my life that I did not ask to have, but I carry it with honor.

Last week, our 14 year old family dog had to be put to sleep. I have always been out of town when this happens, and finally, *finally* I got to massage her head to toe while her sedation set in, help the vet turn her, aid how I could, and love her to her last breath.

Then, I got the extreme honor of wrapping her in her blanket and laying her to rest, feeling the soil through my hands. It reminded me of my seemingly silly idea as I was there with her for someone that couldn’t be while making certain she was buried with every bit of dignity.

I’ve heard that it’s a usual occurrence in veterinary medicine that some pet parents just cannot be in that room during humane euthanasia. That it can be heartbreaking for the vet team, because they witness the dog or cat frantically searching the room for their human in their last moments.

And that’s okay. Many people cannot handle those moments. It does not make anything wrong with you.

Though for me: to be able to keep that rock steadiness, being able to ensure crossing the rainbow bridge is as peaceful as it could be, being there in someone’s absence that really wishes they could be there; it would be a humongous honor that I would happily do for any living thing.

After laying our dearest Aika in the ground, this became forefront of my mind again.

It seemed like such an odd thing to offer 6 months ago, but after that day last week, it felt right to at least check in—

If you feel like you ever wished this service existed or would want support if you were handling the passing of your best friend alone… please leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts. The pull to help others in this way is huge for me and I would be so grateful to do so. 🤍🌈

A little over 3 and a half years ago, I found myself not knowing how to balance a high stress management career with being a solo parent.

Then it clicked. I had taken a grooming hiatus and a side journey as a retail & food service manager for almost a decade, but I still always kept my toolbox near.

And then almost overnight, right after the click, my baby business was born. Each & every part of this journey felt meant to be from the very start to the very end.

With it, it brought blessings in the form of wonderful human beings, many of them whom I now consider friends. Through hundreds of clients & getting to know and love other groomers, whether across the street or overseas.

And, ohh, my four-legged friends. This reel only features the tiniest fraction of all of the special pups I got the honor to know and groom. So many more, some still here & some that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge... each one will stay living in my heart forever.

At-home grooming is so special and the bonds go deep when you get to care for a pet in that environment. The hard part in that is, when you move from the home and the city…. the special people and your business don't follow. Moving wasn't on my 2026 bingo card, but I see how much good is to come with a decision that was so hard to make.

I'm off to new exciting opportunities, to spend some overdue and needed time with my family, be a mom on my terms, and to get real rest for the first time in over a decade.

I have so many ideas and a possible teaching opportunity, which is the core of my passion. All of this is getting to follow my heart all the way for once, & though it's so intensely bittersweet... I am so excited to circle back & deliver some updates when the time is right.

If we have *ever* interacted & you're seeing this, you matter greatly to me. And so many of you are clients & friends I've met along the way—I couldn't have done any of this without you.

Thank you.

Not goodbye, but see you later...

~Session Three~ a.k.a. “The Session We Fell in Love” 😍

It always makes me a little sad when my clients have a goal in mind, whether that be a certain haircut or for their pup to finally fall in love with being groomed (yes, that is possible!) but aren’t able to visit as frequently as they would need to achieve those goals.. so to be able to do both has been filling my cup all the way up.

Here we are at our third handstripping session, Charlee kicking back, giving nuzzles, being happy, understanding his role, and becoming the distinguished gentleman he is. ✨

The first visit where his jacket finally let go. Now we get to watch the beautiful layers come in and roll his coat every two weeks 🥰

A dog that has fun the whole time, takes a few naps, makes me laugh, and visits me on an appropriate schedule to maintain the goals… so much yes. 👏🏻

I’ll keep you all posted, mostly because I can’t shut up about him. I am currently over the moon and so grateful his neat parents found me 😍 p.s. gimme all your terriers 🤗

Terrier owners — have you been searching for a groomer who hand strips in the Oklahoma area? 🐾

You found one. 👋🏻

I’m a 13-year professional groomer with a deep love (borderline obsession 😅) for hand stripping — the traditional grooming method that keeps terrier coats harsh, healthy, and true to the breed.

Most terriers aren’t meant to be clipped. Their coats are designed to be hand stripped, removing mature guard hairs so a proper rich coat can grow back in. When maintained on a schedule, these coats actually become easier to manage and more beautiful over time.

It can seem costly at first, but if you’ve set your heart on bringing home a terrier and doing it right from the start, you’ll set them up for life and save many dollars down the road.

Today’s star: Charlee the Norwich Terrier 🦊

He made the trip from Eufaula to hang out with me; spending most of the appointment investigating tools, licking chalk powder, and attempting to eat his own hair.

Underneath the comedy, though, puppy Charlee has a fantastic harsh coat that’s going to grow into a beautiful rolling jacket. Today’s session focused on building rapport while removing the right amount of undercoat and refining his top skull, ears, and ruff.

He was an A+++ 10/10 good boy.

📍Serving Broken Arrow, Tulsa, and surrounding areas.

Always happy (okay, THRILLED) to meet more terrier friends.

Comb for scale. 🤣 Little bb Blitz stole my heart, I don’t think I’m getting it back.

✨MEET THE TEAM✨

Just kidding, I’m solo, but in all reality this guy has been the boss of me for 15 years now. Benjamin Buttonface.🥰 Or, Ben, Ben-jammin’, BEEEENjamin, meowmeow, or a slew of his other names.

This is where he can be found at the end of every day as soon as the dogs clear out, without fail.

He is well known for his judging looks when he knows I need to drink more water, or not be so hard on my body (I am currently catching up grooms because I had to pause on my large dog friends, oops… he just says, “told ya so”) – or, of course, when the bottom of his food bowl is showing.

Happy Birthday, partner in crime. I’ll be needing you for at least 15 more, k? 🎂

Swipe ➡️ on through if you wanna see the adorable stages of how Muffin went from a teddy bear cut to a grown up Schnauzer friend 🐾

I used to think I didn’t like to groom puppies, but that was from years of corporate grooming & requests not being allowed.

I very, very rarely got a chance to do their second groom & beyond, so I didn’t get to see what trust building could do for the grooming process.

My only regular requests allowed were the fear aggressive dogs as a salon manager, because… I could, & of course no one else was going to fight me for those clients. Which, gave me a plethora of dog handling experience, so I am grateful for it.

But… it’s real neat. When you know that a combo of the pet parent trusting the process & getting to be a puppy’s groomer home turns into the most lovely experience for everyone involved.

Now, puppies are my favorite. It’s like watching your little ones grow up 🥹
