The Shy Ones...
We have some really great cats that are rarely seen in the Cat Lounge. They prefer hanging out in the Quiet Room as their interaction with the public is not quite there.
But, when I am with them alone, it is a different story!
Winry is a very pretty gray on white chonky girl. When she is checked on in the Quiet Room, she loves to be petted. And fed. And she meows for constant attention. She is a nice kitty!
Oreo is so darn good looking in his fancy tuxedo wear! ("'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man!") When I go into the Quiet Room to love on him, he calmly enjoys the neck scratches. He is where I think the term "cool cat" came from. I adore Oreo!
Meredith is so plush and a beautiful "Russian Blue" color. She is actually enjoying coming out into the Cat Lounge more often. Is it the treats? The brushing of her luscious coat? Or maybe she is starting to trust people more. I went into the Quiet Room and noticed her stretching out and relaxing. I went to get a brush. In the past, she would go hide before I came back. But there she was, looking at me, and even giving a bigger stretch, like, "Have at it. I have a thick coat needing brushing!"
Gypsy, our newest kitty to come to The Chat, is a pretty, affectionate senior tuxedo. She loves to be loved! When I go into the Quiet Room, she will come to her name. And then the petting and purring begins. I really enjoy her sweet disposition, even for the short time she has been at our cat cafe.
All of these shy kitties, who aren't so shy when one on one, would transition well in a new home with a loving owner. The way these kitties have learned to trust the workers at The Chat, would be the same way they would learn to trust their new owner.
If you come into the Cat Lounge, be sure to look through the window and see if you spot these beauties. Hopefully, in time, they will all feel comfortable venturing out and discovering the benefits of being around people who love cats!
