October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and we’re celebrating the wonderful ways adoption can change lives, both canine and human!

From encouraging us to get outside and stay active to bringing companionship, joy, and new social connections into our lives, dogs have so much love to give. At JM, we love helping pet parents nurture that special bond and supporting them as they discover all the ways to give their pets happy, healthy, fulfilling lives.

According to the ASPCA, millions of dogs enter shelters and rescues each year. Every dog, regardless of breed, age, size, or personality, deserves the chance to find a loving home. When you adopt, you’re not only welcoming a new best friend into your life, but you may also be helping another dog get the care and resources they need while waiting for their forever family. 💛

Our small animals go through a good amount of hay daily, as they rely on it for dental health and digestion! And we are running incredibly low!!!😩 We are hoping to get some Timothy Hay donated, so we can continue to provide it to our small residents!

We are also in need of rabbit pellets to feed all these adorable & active bunnies that we have!

Meet Bee! 🐝

Bee is a sweet, beautiful 6-month-old Weimaraner/ doberman who is finally ready for the forever home she deserves. Through no fault of her own, Bee has already been in three different homes in her short life. She has never had the chance to truly settle in and learn that she has someone who isn’t going anywhere.

Bee can be very nervous with new people and will need a patient, committed family willing to give her time to come out of her shell and build her confidence. She is also dealing with separation anxiety, so her adopter will need to be prepared to work through this with her using patience, consistency, and training.

Bee has a high prey drive and cannot live with small animals. She does well with other dogs and may benefit from having a confident canine companion in her forever home.

We want to be honest—Bee is going to take work. She needs someone who is willing to put in the time and help her learn that the world is a safe place. But with the right person, we believe Bee will become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.

After being passed from home to home, Bee deserves to finally know what it feels like to belong. She deserves someone who will show her that she doesn’t have to keep starting over—that this time, she is home. ❤️

🔦 HELP US LIGHT THE WAY FOR OUR DOG WALKING VOLUNTEERS! 🐾

As the days get shorter, our volunteers are walking our shelter dogs in the dark! 🌙 We’d love to keep our amazing volunteers and pups safe, so we’re asking for donations of headlamps to help light the way during their walks. ❤️

Headlamps help our volunteers keep their hands free while walking the dogs and make it easier to see where they’re going after the sun goes down!
