What a perfect day for our lil virtual show!! The horses started off a bit full of themselves, and Tracey accidentally said it was because of the Fall "Seasoning", and we shall be calling it that from now on. They were definitely spicy!!! Lol!! But after a nice warm up and a few practice runs, everyone settled in nicely. After everyone was satisfied with their recorded tests, we did a lil horsey musical chairs and swapped mounts so everyone could try riding the other horses. I even hopped on and took Berry through the Intro A test! Lots of smiles and lots of laughs. We've really been having fun with these! Many thanks to WNYDA for offering these virtual shows!!

Today, we took a couple of students to a schooling show at Leg Up Stables. It was only their second time showing off property, for both the horses and the riders. They loaded on the trailer like old pro's! Once there, they were anxious, but took in their surroundings well and settled in after a bit. Lydia and Gelato took 5th in Equitation and 3rd in Hunter Under Saddle, and Caitlin and Berry took 2nd in Equitation and 1st in Hunter US. Cait was so busy making silly faces at us that she almost missed hearing that she got 1st! 🤣 And, even though we focus more on Dressage here, I convinced both girls to enter the walk/trot ground poles classes. I wanted them to get some exposure to being the only rider in the ring and to have to perform a memorized pattern. Lydia took two 4ths and Cait got two 5th. Poor Berry was pretty convinced that the judge sitting in the midst of the poles course was going to eat him!! But Cait got him around and over every pole! And Gelato was not keen on being the only one in the ring, but Lydia remained composed and helped him through. It was a positive learning experience for all!

Thank you to Nick for getting us there and back safely! Thank you Leg Up Stables for a fun and supportive show experience! Thank you Alyssa for helping with the morning farm work, we missed you and wished you could have come with us! And thank you to the riders families for coming out and supporting them!

We are still looking for a boarder or two that would fit in with our laid back, wonderful community.

We are still looking for a boarder or two that would fit in with our laid back, wonderful community.

RARE OPPORTUNITY!

We rarely have stall boarding available to offer, but we actually have TWO stalls that are adjacent to each other! Available September 1st. We are a low key, drama free community. There is a wonderful, supportive vibe, and I am quite protective of it. I will be VERY particular about who boards here, I will require references and I will check them. If that sounds like an environment that would suit you and your horse, PM me. All breeds and disciplines welcome.

Something I hear quite often from students and owners is that some of their family and friends tell them that horseback riding is such a waste of money. I realize that the economy isn't great right now, and I'm definitely not saying that horses are inexpensive. Trust me, I know the cost very, very well!!! But, when you see people smiling, genuinely smiling, like this, you can see the value. I see these kinds of smiles pretty much daily. In lessons, when a student accomplishes something that they have been working on. When they move up to a more challenging horse. At first shows. During a first ride. First time trotting. Cantering. These smiles are priceless. We NEED things in our lives that bring smiles that reach our eyes!!!
