👏 Shout out to the ones doing it all!!! 🫶

There are all kinds of different animal welfare organizations out there. Some are more niche organizations where they specialize in just one thing and learn everything they can in that one area like maybe TNR. Or maybe they focus on animals that are underserved in some way. Generally with these niche organizations the area of focus is one that the founder or leaders are passionate about. There are so many wonderful specialized rescues and we NEED them all!

But today Samuel L Jackson and I got to thinking about the "catch all" organizations. The ones that say yes to everything and are not limited by a particular scope/focus. Those organizations have to know a lot about EVERYTHING! Especially organizations that support all different species! I'll take dogs for example. A multi species organization doesn't just have to know about bottle feeding puppies, trapping feral dogs, supporting nursing moms, or helping senior dogs...they have to know these things for EVERY species in their care. That pretty much blows my mind!

Well. That was just Jenny's thought for the day and I wanted to share. If you know a rescuer that does it all or any rescuer, please take a moment today to send them thanks and ask how you can support. I promise, it will be meaningful to them!

I didn't even know there was such a service. What a wonderful way to ensure safety and care for all in your home! So appreciate Birds & Braks sharing! Please friends make sure you have a good backup plan/safety net if this is your situation. I am sure there are many available options.

Today we have an emergency transport heading to Ohio to assist a municipality we haven’t worked with before.

Three parrots were found in the home of a deceased owner after he failed to show up for work. Thankfully, he hadn’t been gone long. His employer became concerned and requested a welfare check, which is what ultimately led to the birds being found.

The reason I’m telling you this is because this situation could have ended very differently.

If you live alone, have medical issues, travel frequently, or simply don’t have someone who checks on you every day, please make a plan.

Your animals don’t know you’ve had a medical emergency. They only know dinner never came.

🐈‍⬛ THIS IS NOT CUTE ️😕

Look at Mama Genevieve's face. Back to back litters starting as early as 4 months old isn't cute. She fought every moment of her of her life until rescue day on 4/25/2026. Wanna know how long? 2 years. Know how many kittens she likely produced in those 2 years? This litter was a total of 5 but one died before we met her. So gestation of about 60 days. Cats can get pregnant again as soon as 48 hours after giving birth. You do the math. 40 maybe in the last two years?

No choice but to submit to the male that mounted her. Driven by her own hormones to be compliant. Her lady parts scraped by the spines on his p***s that stimulate her to ovulate. No wonder cats are so prolific. No wonder we are drowning in unhoused, unowned, and unloved animals. No wonder kittens are dying in the streets.

It's ugly right? No one wants to hear this. Hell I don't want to say it. I cry every day for the ones that have no choices. The saddest part is that there is a 100% effective solution and that's spay/neuter. Every animal welfare organization has been educating for years. I am at a loss because it is not getting better.
