We have a lot going on here at BAC but I wanted to take a moment to share this about Naugatuck’s ACO Brittany Tooth. She did an incredible job keeping her shelter animals safe during an emergency and is overall awesome. If you haven’t given a follow to other animal controls around the state- start by giving Naugatuck Animal Control a follow!
A Tribute to Naugatuck’s Incredible Animal Control Officer, Brittany Tooth
Today, we want to take a moment to recognize someone whose dedication, courage, and compassion often happen quietly behind the scenes but deserve to be celebrated by our entire community.
Recently, what could have become a catastrophic tragedy at the NAC was avoided thanks to the quick thinking and heroic actions of our Animal Control Officer, Brittany Tooth. When an electrical fire broke out in the shelter, Brittany acted without hesitation, ensuring the safe evacuation of all 14 dogs and 1 cat in Animal Control’s care. Because of her calm response and unwavering commitment, every animal made it to safety.
While this extraordinary act deserves recognition on its own, those who know Brittany understand that this level of dedication is not unusual for her. Day after day, she goes above and beyond for the animals who depend on her and for the residents of our community. Whether responding to emergencies, comforting frightened animals, supporting adopters, or advocating for those without a voice, Brittany approaches every challenge with professionalism, kindness, and an enormous heart.
The role of an Animal Control Officer is often undervalued and misunderstood. It requires long hours, difficult decisions, emotional resilience, and a deep commitment to both public safety and animal welfare. Brittany exemplifies the very best of what that role can be.
Our community is stronger, safer, and more compassionate because of her. The animals who pass through the shelter are incredibly fortunate to be under her care, and we are grateful every day for the dedication she brings to her work.
Please join us in thanking Brittany for her remarkable service, her selfless actions, and the countless ways she makes a difference that often go unseen.
Thank you, Brittany. We are truly a better community because of you. 🐾❤️
