💕Behind the Bridle: Meet Caarisma! 🐴

Hi, everyone! My name is Caarisma, although if we're being official, my registered name is La Caarisma!

I'm a bay Arabian mare, born around 1999, and I stand 15.1 hands tall, or about 5'1" at the top of my shoulder. I joined the Pegasus herd in May 2015, but I had quite a few adventures before I got here!

Before Pegasus, I was an endurance horse, which means I was competitively ridden on trails over long distances. But that's not my only talent...I also know how to pull a cart! I can drive on my own or alongside a buddy. Who knew I had so many skills? 😉

I'm known around Pegasus for being sensitive, eager, honest, and intuitive. I'm very tuned in to the energy around me, so I notice a LOT about both the people and horses I'm working with.

That sensitivity makes me a wonderful partner for learning about communication and boundaries. I pay close attention to even the lightest cues, which can help participants learn how their body language, energy, and actions affect the horse they're working with. Sometimes you don't need to say a word for me to understand what you're telling me!

It also means I can be a little shy when I'm meeting someone new. If you see me, please come say hello...just approach me slowly and give me a little time to get to know you. 💕

One more fun fact: I'm registered with the Arabian Horse Association, and I was born in Iowa on April 28!

🎨 Something New at Denim & Diamonds!

This year’s Denim & Diamonds Dance will feature a special custom art pop-up with artist Joseph Dalesandro!

Joseph creates vibrant custom portraits inspired by your favorite photos, from beloved pets and horses to family, friends, special places and favorite memories.

Guests will be able to see examples of his work at the gala and learn more about creating a custom piece from one of their own favorite photos.

💛 Behind the Bridle: Meet Buttercup! 🐴

Hi, everyone! My name is Buttercup, and it's my turn to tell you a little bit about myself!

I'm a palomino Quarter Horse and was born around 2006. I stand 14.1 hands tall. I joined the Pegasus herd on August 2014, so I've been part of the family for quite a while!

Before coming to Pegasus, I had experience in the show ring and 4-H, and I helped young children learn to ride both English and Western. I guess you could say I was already preparing for my job at Pegasus before I even got here!

I'm known for being quiet, steady, and reliable, and I have a smooth, slow gait. Those qualities make me a wonderful partner for participants who may need some extra support during their rides, including those who use walkers or wheelchairs. I also work with independent riders and am especially good at activities focused on stillness and presence. Sometimes, just being together can be pretty powerful. 💛

Here's a fun fact about my beautiful golden coat: Did you know that around half of all registered palomino horses are Quarter Horses like me? Palomino isn't actually a breed, though. It's a coat color that can be found in many different horse breeds!

And there's one more very important thing you should know about me...I LOVE a good ear rub. Sometimes I might even remind you of a very large golden dog. 😂

Since opening in 2006, Captain Lawrence has grown into Westchester’s largest craft brewery, known not only for its award-winning beers, but also for its commitment to giving back to the community that has supported them along the way. The Pegasus Gala isn't just a night our guests look forward to...our staff does too! 💙

After months of planning, it's so much fun to see our team take a moment to laugh, dance, celebrate, and enjoy the evening alongside our amazing supporters.

These throwback photos are a reminder that while there's plenty of work happening behind the scenes, there are also moments of joy, connection, and celebration. We're grateful to be part of such an incredible community, and we can't wait to do it all again this year.
