S.N.A.R.R Animal Rescue Northeast GIVING HOPE TO THE HOPELESS SNARR Northeast was started in 2011 and is run by Courtney Bellew. We rely solely on donations as a 501c3 non-profit.

We are based out of New York but geography does not stop us when it comes to rescuing! SNARR saves the toughest dogs to place; those with serious medical conditions, deaf and blind dogs, severely emaciated dogs, the animals that nobody else wants; the dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. We also save perfectly healthy animals as well...there are countless lives and innocent beings who need our help. Courtney Bellew, of Westchester County, NY visited the Manhattan Animal Care & Control Shelter and came across a special dog named Frankie, a deaf Pit Bull. There was just something about him, the look in his eyes, his calm nature…something that made her say: "I need to help THIS dog!” With a full house of her own dogs, Courtney began posting on Facebook for a rescue group to step up and legally take responsibility of Frankie while her and her husband fostered him. After volunteering for a few months, Courtney realized she had truly found her passion and SNARR Northeast was born. Donation can be sent:

Meet Iris! 💜

Iris is a sweet, affectionate, 7 month old, 40lbs (and still growing) puppy who loves being close to her people.

Whether she’s following you from room to room, curling up beside you while you relax, or simply keeping you company throughout the day, Iris seems happiest when she’s near those she loves.

And can we talk about her ears? They’re working overtime being irresistibly cute. 🥰

Like any young puppy, Iris is curious about the world around her and eager to explore. She’s playful, learning new things every day, and discovering all the fun that puppyhood has to offer. She approaches life with a sweet nature and a desire to be included in whatever is happening around her.

Since arriving in foster care, Iris has been adjusting well to family life and continuing to build her confidence. She enjoys companionship and is quickly learning the routines and expectations that come with being part of a home. 🦮

Meet Pearl, a sweet and charming 5 year old girl with a story that deserves a happy ending.

When her previous owners moved away, they sadly left her behind in their apartment building to fend for herself. Although they left her behind, they did leave her wearing a pretty pearl collar, which inspired us to give her the name Pearl. Now, she is safe, loved, and ready to find someone who will never leave her behind again.

Pearl has been an absolute pleasure to have around! She is a loving, affectionate girl who enjoys all the little things that make a cat happy. She adores head rubbies, ear rubbies, catnip, and giving sweet little head butts to show you just how much she likes you. She is also quite the talker and loves to share her thoughts with you, so you'll never have to wonder what's on her mind!

Pearl has a few preferences that make her personality even more endearing. She loves her special chair and firmly believes it belongs to her and her alone! Try to sit in it, and she'll be sure to let you know that you've made a terrible mistake. She also loves affection, but belly rubs are definitely not on her list of favorite things. And while she enjoys being close to her people and sharing love, she's not much of a lap cat. She's more of a "I'll sit near you, give you head butts, and accept all the attention I want, thank you very much!" kind of girl.

After being left behind by the people she depended on, Pearl deserves a forever home where she will always feel safe, cherished, and wanted. She has so much love to give and a wonderful personality to share with someone special. If you're looking for a sweet, vocal, affectionate companion with a little sass and a whole lot of heart, Pearl may just be your girl.

Angela is the definition of sweet, friendly, and full of joy. This happy nearly 3 year old, 50lb girl LOVES meeting new people, especially kids, and greets everyone she meets with her signature wiggle butt. Despite everything she’s endured before being rescued last year, Angela’s resilient spirit shines through — she simply loves life and being with her people.

Angela is ready to do ALL the things. She’s active, athletic, smart, and always up for an adventure. Whether it’s a long walk, a car ride, exploring somewhere new, running errands together, playing in the backyard, Angela is down for it all, and is happiest simply being by your side.

This is Gracie 💕

After being abandoned by her owner, Gracie found herself in an overcrowded Texas shelter, confused and waiting for someone to come back for her. Animal Control called again and again, and each time they were promised, “Tomorrow.” ...But tomorrow never came.

Despite being let down by the people she trusted most, Gracie hasn’t lost her sweet spirit.

This lovable girl 5 year old, 65lb girl has a gentle, affectionate personality and is happiest soaking up love from her humans. She’s good with other dogs and likes to romp around and play with them, though she’d also be perfectly content being your one-and-only spoiled princess.

Gracie is ready to make the big trip up to NY in search of her new life, but we need to find a safe, warm place for her to land first.

Months have gone by and Hank is still waiting… 💔

Earlier this year, Hank was found as a stray in rural Louisiana and landed himself in a small overcrowded shelter with a ticking clock. Before his time ran out, SNARR stepped in to save him, and one of our rescue partners helped place him in boarding while we made arrangements for him to come to NY. He’s ready to make the big trip, but the only issue is, he has no where to go.

We desperately need someone to open their heart and their home to foster him, so he can finally have his chance at the new beginning he deserves. 🙏

Hank is the total package and then some. This handsome 2-year-old, 70lb hunk has a heart as big as his smile, and he’s ready to share it with someone who will love him as much as he’ll love them.

Sweet, affectionate, playful, and full of life, Hank is the kind of dog who makes every day brighter just by being in it. He loves to romp around the yard, play with his toys, go for walks, and take in all the sights and smells the world has to offer. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a weekend adventure, or a good game of fetch, Hank is always ready to have some fun. And when the day is done? Hank is more than happy to settle in beside you on the couch.

Hank is friendly and outgoing, gets along well with other dogs and even cats, and is perfectly content entertaining himself with a favorite toy or a good bone when you’re busy. He’s loving, adaptable, loyal, and just an all-around wonderful boy. 🐶

Jenny is a happy-go-lucky 11 week old 15 lb pittie mix with a heart full of love and a personality that’s impossible not to adore!
