S.N.A.R.R Animal Rescue Northeast GIVING HOPE TO THE HOPELESS SNARR Northeast was started in 2011 and is run by Courtney Bellew. We rely solely on donations as a 501c3 non-profit.

We are based out of New York but geography does not stop us when it comes to rescuing! SNARR saves the toughest dogs to place; those with serious medical conditions, deaf and blind dogs, severely emaciated dogs, the animals that nobody else wants; the dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. We also save perfectly healthy animals as well...there are countless lives and innocent beings who need our

help. Courtney Bellew, of Westchester County, NY visited the Manhattan Animal Care & Control Shelter and came across a special dog named Frankie, a deaf Pit Bull. There was just something about him, the look in his eyes, his calm nature…something that made her say: "I need to help THIS dog!” With a full house of her own dogs, Courtney began posting on Facebook for a rescue group to step up and legally take responsibility of Frankie while her and her husband fostered him. After volunteering for a few months, Courtney realized she had truly found her passion and SNARR Northeast was born. Donation can be sent:

Meet Maisy! 🩷

This beautiful 1 year old, 55lb shepherd mix is a natural companion who wants to be wherever her people are. Whether you’re heading out for an outdoor adventure or working from home or just relaxing, she’s happiest when she can be by your side.

And as you’d expect from a shepherd, Maisy is incredibly smart! She learns quickly, is highly food motivated, and is eager to please. She already knows “sit,” “down,” and “off,” and she can even catch treats right out of the air! She’s a bright girl who is ready to keep learning and growing with a family willing to show her the way.

Maisy is young, active, and full of zest for life. She loves her flirt pole, rope toys, bones, and frozen Kongs. She also rides beautifully in the car and walks well on leash, making her ready to join her people on all kinds of adventures.

What Maisy needs now is a family who will embrace her energy, intelligence, and potential. We’d love to see her in a home with a fenced-in yard where she can run, romp, and play to her heart’s content, along with an active family who will give her plenty of opportunities to exercise her body and her brilliant mind.

Maisy is still young, and she’s looking for someone who understands that raising a dog is a commitment — one that comes with patience, consistency, guidance, training, and lots of love. She deserves the opportunity to grow into the incredible dog we know she can become, surrounded by people who will never give up on her.

Meet Sunshine! ☀️

Sunshine’s world was recently turned upside down when his owner passed away, leaving him heartbroken and confused in an overcrowded rural South Carolina shelter. At just about 2 years old, this sweet and stunningly beautiful boy is still trying to understand why everything changed so suddenly.

Despite all he’s been through in the last few months, it’s clear that Sunshine is gentle, loving, and ready to find a forever family who will make him feel safe and cherished again.

Sunshine can be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality begins to shine through. He gets along wonderfully with both dogs AND cats, and would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can settle in at his own pace.

One of Sunshine’s biggest wishes is for a yard of his own where he can relax, explore, romp around, and enjoy peaceful sunny days. He’d also love a confident, friendly canine companion who he can pal around with.

Sharon is a special girl looking for a special kind of home — and we know her perfect person is out there…

Originally rescued as a young pup from an overcrowded shelter in South Carolina, Sharon has grown into a joyful, spunky, affectionate young lady who is ready for the next chapter of her life.

She’s an active girl who loves to explore, play, and enjoy some quality quiet time with her people. On walks, Sharon is a lovely companion who trots happily alongside you, checks in with her person, and takes time to stop and sniff the flowers along the way. If you stop, she stops. If you walk, she walks. If you run, she’ll happily run with you. Ask her for her paw? She’ll gladly give it to you.

Sharon is incredibly connected to her people. She’s smart, attentive, eager to please, and happiest when she knows she’s part of the action. She wants a person who will build that special bond with her and give her the consistency, connection, and attention she thrives on.

At 5.5 years old, she also still has a fun, playful side. She loves tossing toys into the air, chasing after a ball, and having fun with her person. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for Sharon, giving her a safe place to stretch her legs, explore, and get her zoomies out. And once playtime is over? Sharon is perfectly content to come settle by your feet and soak up the sunshine with you.

Sharon would do best as the only dog in the home and is looking for an adult-only household where things are on the quieter side. She isn’t looking for a chaotic lifestyle — she’s looking for someone who will appreciate her for the wonderful, loyal, loving companion she is.

Misty loves BIG.

This smart, energetic 2.5 year old cattle dog mix is always ready to run, play and snuggle. A yard or an active family would make her so happy, but no matter what, her favorite place is right by your side. She forms a strong, loving bond with her people and will happily soak up all the attention and affection you are willing to give.

Misty is crate trained, incredibly smart, and loves making her people proud, which makes her such a rewarding dog to spend time with. After a good walk, or some time to burn off her energy, she settles in nicely and is happy to relax by your side. She can also enjoy the company of another dog, especially one who matches her playful energy. She is looking for her perfect forever family, could that be you??

🚨💔 DOLLY IS DYING. WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW TO SAVE HER. 💔🚨

I don’t even know how to write this without crying.

Dolly needs emergency surgery to save her life.
She has a septic abdomen; a devastating, life-threatening infection throughout her abdominal cavity and doctors believe there is a severe abscess somewhere involving her intestines.
Without surgery, we are going to lose her.
And Dolly deserves so much more than for her story to end like this.

Someone abandoned this little girl a week ago in the lobby of an apartment building in Staten Island.

They didn’t leave a note.
They didn’t leave her medical history.
They didn’t explain how long she had been sick.
They just dumped an emaciated, terribly ill little dog and walked away.

Imagine being sick, starving, hurting and confused…and watching the people you trusted simply leave you behind.

A Good Samaritan found Dolly and contacted SNARR for help. Of course we said yes.

And then we met her.

Within five minutes, I was completely in love.
You simply cannot meet Dolly and not love her. She has this precious little face, these huge, velvety soft wrinkles, soulful eyes and the sweetest personality imaginable.

And somehow, despite everything happening inside her body, Dolly is still giving everyone kisses.

That is the part that is destroying us.

Her abdomen is filled with infection. She is septic. She has already endured two abdominal exploratory surgeries. She has had drains placed. Her abdomen continued filling with fluid. She was transferred to a specialty hospital last night, and today’s diagnostics and ultrasound still show a fluid-filled pocket somewhere inside her abdomen.

Even the specialists cannot tell exactly where it is coming from.

They just know that something is terribly wrong and Dolly’s only chance is emergency surgery to save her life. Dolly doesn’t understand any of that.

She doesn’t understand that we are terrified we could lose her.

She just wants to be loved.
She crawls into your lap.
She presses herself against you.
She looks into your eyes.
She gives you kisses.
She wiggles that adorable little bulldog butt like she doesn’t have a care in the world.

And all the while, this tiny little dog is fighting a raging infection inside her body.

I cannot explain how heartbreaking it is to look into the eyes of a dog who is this sick and have her kiss your face.

It’s almost as though she’s telling us, “I’m still here. Please don’t give up on me.”

And we won’t.

We have already spent thousands of dollars trying to save Dolly. We have paid for hospitalization, diagnostics, ultrasounds, drains and two surgeries. Now we are facing another enormous specialty hospital bill for the emergency surgery that could save her life.
But after everything she has survived, how can money be the reason we stop?

How do we look at this little girl who was thrown away like garbage, who has endured more pain than she ever should have known, and who STILL trusts people enough to crawl into our laps and cover us with kisses and tell her we can’t keep fighting?

We can’t do it.

Someone already gave up on Dolly once.

We refuse to be the second.

So today, we are begging you.

Please help us save her.
