We do not just teach people how to ride a horse. We build responsible horsemen and horsewomen. There’s a difference between learning to ride a horse once a week and learning what it actually takes to become a confident horse owner.

At PB Performance Horses, our program is focused on riders who want more. More knowledge. More independence. More responsibility. More understanding. 🤓💪

We believe the goal isn’t just to teach you how to sit in the saddle, but to equip you with the skills and confidence to eventually own, care for, train, and manage a horse. This means we hold our students to a higher understanding for learning horsemanship beyond the arena. Our students learn to understand horse behavior, develop feel and timing, build problem-solving skills, and take on the responsibilities that come with owning a horse.

One day, you may have a horse of your own. We want you to be prepared for more than just riding it. Our goal is to develop well-rounded horsemen who can think independently, make educated decisions, and build successful partnerships with their horses.

When times are tough or s**t hits the fan, life shows you who is really in your corner.

For example, putting on a race or competition of any size (I may speak from experience). There are a million moving pieces, unexpected challenges, long preparation, and moments when you realize just how much goes into making something happen. In the middle of it all, you get a pretty clear picture of the people around you. You see who follows through on what they said they would do, who shows up when they said they would, who steps in when “oopsies” happens, and who supports you even when they can’t physically be there.

This applies to so much more than just putting on a race. It applies to business, friendships, relationships, and every season of life when you’re working toward something that matters to you. It’s easy to say you support someone when everything is going well. It’s much more difficult to actually show up when things get hard, plans change, or someone needs you to follow through.

Life happens to all of us. Nobody can be everywhere or do everything, and genuine support doesn’t always look like physically showing up. Sometimes it’s a phone call, a thoughtful message, keeping your word, offering a helping hand, or simply making an effort when you know someone has a lot on their plate.

At the end of the day, actions speak louder than words. You can verbally tell people you’re in their corner all day long, but eventually, your actions will tell the real story. Pay attention to the people who show up, appreciate the people who follow through, and be mindful of whether you’re giving others the same kind of support you hope to receive. 🥰

What a weekend! Although I aim for my focus to never be on the money and prizes, it still is pretty fun to bring home some goodies! 🤩

Our competition team brought home over $5,500, 10 drag prize wagons, 3 buckles (one is already on a belt!), new trailer cameras, and so much more swag. We are so lucky to be able to do what we love, win some super cool prizes, hang with our friends, and give back to our community.

Mental health is no joke and it is so important to support those around you. Nolan Watters Memorial’s slogan of “love and be loved” hits home so deeply. I hope all of you know that you are loved, you are worthy, and you belong. 🩵

Meet the Team: Instructor Edition! 🩵🤠

Meet Miranda, our newest addition to the PB Performance Horses team, Beginner Horsemanship Instructor!

With a lifelong passion for horses, Miranda has been riding since the age of 3 and is the proud owner of 6 horses, and one little donkey (Hashbrown 🍳)! Horses have always been a huge part of her life. She is passionate about sharing that love with the next generation of riders.

Miranda specializes in western riding and has experience across multiple disciplines, including western pleasure, ranch riding, english equitation, and speed events. As a barrel racer herself, she understands the dedication, patience, and partnership it takes to develop a confident rider and a willing, capable horse.

Beyond the saddle, Miranda is a registered veterinary technician with a strong background in animal health and care. She is currently attending school with the goal of becoming a performance equine veterinarian, combining her passion for horses with her commitment to their health, wellness, and performance.

Miranda is excited to help new riders build confidence, develop a strong foundation in horsemanship, and create meaningful partnerships with their horses.

Nolan Watters Memorial Barrel Race 2026 is in the books🩵

This race means so much to our team as mental health has an impact on every single one of us. On top of this race being a su***de awareness fundraiser, October is also Anti-bulling Month. You never know what someone is going through, so always make sure to be kind and supportive no matter what. It never takes away from you to be supportive of someone else. 🩵

I had so much fun watching our team not only kill it in the arena, but also be genuine and encouraging to each other. Two of our girls were not on their usual mounts, and they both CRUSHED it jump jockeying! 💪 We are so thankful for everyone involved.

Here is to one of my favorite races of the year and knowing that each and every one of you belong! 🥰

This cowgirl 🔥🤠

She has been working so hard with her boy Rust to make some solid runs! My favorite part about having long term students in our program is watching their growth year over year. Virginia has had Rust for a year and a half now! Last year, she was running 18s and hit barrels at finals. This year, she had three clean runs and ran two 17s!!! 🔥🤩

I am so impressed and proud of her grit. Her strength, confidence, and attitude is contagious. Thank you Virginia for inspiring me to be better every day!🩵

We don’t offer discounts on lessons (unless you have your own horse), but there’s a reason why.

A lesson is more than the hour you spend in the saddle. It includes the care of our horses, facility expenses, equipment, insurance, education, preparation, and the time and expertise that go into creating a safe, intentional program for every horse and rider.

At the end of the day, ask your horse if they would be willing to eat any less, receive less care, or have their needs compromised just to save a few dollars. I’m guessing their answer would be no. 😉

We believe in keeping our pricing fair and consistent so we can continue providing the quality instruction, horse care, and individualized attention our students deserve.

When you invest in a lesson, you’re investing not only in your riding, but in the entire program behind it. And we’re incredibly grateful for every person who chooses to invest in themselves and their horse with us. 🐴✨🩵

Things that people who come from other sports (that are not horse-related) that may shock them:

- Weather doesn’t affect our scheduling although we may have to adjust the content of what we are learning. We show up rain or shine (even when it is 100+) because horse ownership has no days off.

- Expecting a participation trophy at each competition. Only 20% of riders at a show come home with a check. You better get really good at losing because you will lose significantly more than you win.

- You must commit to your horse every single day. This sport is not a “show up twice a week to practice” kind of sport. It takes daily discipline to excel.

- There is always a risk of getting hurt. Although uncommon, horses can cause death and significant injuries. Our safety rules (how to hold the lead rope, put the bridle on, brush horses, etc) are in place not to take away from you having fun, but to make sure that you go home in one piece. Even when you are as careful as possible, freak things happen!

- You have to act with urgency and always be present. Horses are flight animals and things can change in the blink of an eye. When a Trainer tells you to do something, it doesn’t mean to do it in 5 minutes. It means do it now.
