Check out the emergency pyometra surgery our team (Dr. Kaiser, Lead Vet Tech Taryne and Texas Tech SVM 4th year Extern, soon to be Dr. Emily) performed to help save a pup yesterday!
It was a whopper at 4.56 #’s😲
Thankfully the sweet girl recovered great and went home today!

🔥 South Texas Heat Alert! 🔥

South Texas is turning up the heat! Please take extra precautions to keep your pets safe during this heat wave. Limit outdoor activity to the early morning or evening, provide plenty of fresh water and shade, and never leave pets unattended in a vehicle—even for a few minutes.
Hot pavement can burn sensitive paw pads, and heatstroke can happen quickly. If your pet shows excessive panting, weakness, vomiting, confusion, or collapse, seek veterinary care immediately. Stay cool and stay safe, friends! 🐾💧☀️

𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗮'𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱... 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. 🥵 So please remember first and foremost, that heat stroke in our pets is real, something we see on almost a weekly basis at our clinic. Unfortunately, all too often it is very severe and life threatening in this weather… so please help us keep your pets cool, shaded, hydrated and safe.
One thing that we do know for sure, is that our feral community cat spay and neuter team is on FIRE!!!🔥

Us Peaches are so very proud of Camryn! A familiar face ya’ll might have seen around the clinic in years past. If we could have chained her here we would have 🙃🤣, but we knew her true calling and couldn’t be more proud of all that she has accomplished! She is an intelligent, loyal, hardworking, dependable, team-oriented employee and an asset to the BCSO.
