Shepherd of the Hills Veterinary Clinic

🐾❤️ It's Veterinary Technician Week — and at Shepherd of the Hills Veterinary Clinic, we're celebrating our ENTIRE TEAM! ❤️🐾

While this week is traditionally dedicated to recognizing veterinary technicians, we believe it's also the perfect opportunity to celebrate every individual who makes our hospital what it is.

Every member of our team brings something special to the table — knowledge, dedication, compassion, patience, and, most importantly, a genuine love for the animals entrusted to our care.

From the friendly faces welcoming you through our doors to the skilled hands providing medical care, every role matters. Every person makes a difference. And every team member plays an important part in advocating for your pet. 🐶🐱

Veterinary medicine isn't always easy. There are long days, challenging cases, emotional moments, and countless things happening behind the scenes that our clients may never see. But through it all, this team continues to show up for one another, for our clients, and for the pets who depend on us.

To our SHVC family: We see your hard work. We value your knowledge. We appreciate your dedication. And we couldn't be prouder of the heart you bring to this profession every single day. ❤️

Please join us in celebrating the incredible people who make Shepherd of the Hills Veterinary Clinic a place where advocacy isn't just our mission — it's what we do, together.

🐾 Different Roles. One Incredible Team.
United as Advocates for Every Pet. 💛

🐾 Last but Not Least… Meet Amanda! 🐾

Closing out our Meet the Team series is Amanda, our Practice Manager! ❤️

Amanda joined Shepherd of the Hills Veterinary Clinic in 2025, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Since beginning her career in 2004, she has found her greatest purpose in supporting veterinary teams, advocating for patients, and helping clients feel truly heard, understood, and supported throughout their pet’s care.

One of Amanda’s favorite parts of her role is educating and encouraging our team—helping each person grow in confidence, knowledge, and their ability to advocate for the patients and families we serve. And while much of her day may be spent leading the practice, she’s never too busy to sneak in a few snuggles and kisses with our patients… big, small, furry, and everything in between. 🐶🐱💕

Outside of SHVC, Amanda is a proud mom of two high schoolers and shares her home with quite the four-legged crew: German Shorthaired Pointers Atas and Haze, along with cats Jurge, Pibble, and Lu. When she isn’t at the clinic, you’ll likely find her spending time outdoors, enjoying the lake with her husband, or catching up on some much-needed fur baby snuggles.

For Amanda, veterinary medicine has always been about more than caring for animals—it’s about people, connection, communication, and being an advocate when someone needs one most.

We’re wrapping up our team introductions with the person who spends so much of her time cheering on everyone else. ❤️🐾

🐾 Meet the Team: Jerry 🐾

Meet Jerry, who joined the Shepherd of the Hills Veterinary Clinic team in 2025 and quickly became a valued part of the SHVC family. ❤️

Jerry grew up in the small town of Cosby, Missouri, where his involvement in FFA, farm life, and hands-on animal care helped shape his appreciation for animals from an early age. He even spent time shadowing at a veterinary clinic in St. Joseph during high school and later worked as a dog walker before making the move to Branson.

One of Jerry’s favorite parts of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to combine his love for animals with his passion for helping people. Whether he’s supporting a client, assisting the team, or meeting one of the many furry faces that come through our doors, Jerry is always happy to lend a hand. 🐶🐱

We’re excited to have his kindness, enthusiasm, and customer-service heart as part of our team and look forward to watching him continue to grow with SHVC!

🐾 Meet the Team: Lex 🐾

Meet Lex, whose love for animals began long before veterinary medicine became part of his career. Growing up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, he spent summers volunteering at a local animal shelter and discovered just how rewarding it could be to care for animals in need. ❤️

After moving to Branson in 2019, Lex joined Shepherd of the Hills Veterinary Clinic in 2024 as a part-time clinic custodian, where he helped shape a brand-new role within our practice. He proudly returned to the SHVC team in 2026 and continues to bring compassion, enthusiasm, and a willingness to jump in wherever he’s needed.

At home, Lex is surrounded by plenty of feline personality thanks to his three rescued cats, Mabel, Willow, and Ghibli. 🐱🐱🐱

From helping create a welcoming environment for our patients and clients to supporting his teammates behind the scenes, Lex brings a genuine love for animals and a great attitude to everything he does.

We’re so glad to have him back as part of the SHVC family! 🐾❤️

🐾 Meet the Team: Marissa 🐾

Meet Marissa, whose journey to veterinary medicine has taken her from South Dakota to Hawaii and eventually to Missouri- with quite a few adventures along the way! 🌺🐾

While living in Hawaii, Marissa worked everywhere from a snorkeling boat to high-end pearl jewelry, but her favorite role was serving as a customer service supervisor at a large animal hospital. That experience allowed her lifelong love of animals to become an important part of her career.

When Marissa moved to Arkansas in 2016, she brought two dogs along for the adventure. Since then, her furry family has grown to an impressive four dogs and four cats—all rescues! 🐶🐱❤️

Outside of work, Marissa is happiest outdoors and loves spending time hiking with her dogs. With eight rescue pets at home, it’s safe to say there’s never a shortage of animals—or personality—in her life!

We’re so happy to have Marissa’s experience, love for animals, and adventurous spirit as part of our team.

🐾 Meet the Team: Tay 🐾

Meet Tay, who joined the Shepherd of the Hills Veterinary Clinic team in 2026 and quickly brought her fun, down-to-earth personality along with her! ❤️

When she’s not at the clinic, Tay stays plenty busy as a mom of two and pet parent to a full house of furry personalities—three dogs and one cat. 🐶🐶🐶🐱

Her hobbies are just as unique as she is. Tay enjoys taxidermy and preservation, unwinding with a good video game, and spending time with her kids and animals. Whether she’s diving into a new project, gaming after a busy day, or keeping up with her crew at home, there’s rarely a dull moment!

Tay brings plenty of personality, humor, and heart to our team, and we’re so happy to have her as part of the SHVC family. 🐾💕
